Found the port strainer was missing 2 slats, enabling all kinds of "stuff" to enter uninvited. Want to attempt replacement before season begins. Is this a hard one to do? Thanks

can be.......likely 5200 was used to seal it to the boat.....plus you must remove the seacock as well (good time to lubricate or replace it too) - while taking out screws and spinning off the seacocks and jam nuts is straitforward, 5200 on the threads can slow you down, as well as any ripping up of gelcoat......all in all just another day at the office LOL - Im sure I made it sound worse than it will actually be

Kinda scary!(LOL)

I cut the slats out so I can paint tri-lux on the inside of the tube to prevent sea growth. Anything that passes through gets caught by the strainer

Interesting.....The slats were supposed to be the first line of defense.
