Topped off the big girl today before cruising to DC tomorrow and was most pleased to discover diesel at my local SR dealer going for $2.40/ gallon. With the 25 cent per gallon price decrease for being a customer, that works out to $2.15 a gallon to feed the Cummins. Not too bad. Still aiming fo 150 hours before we winterize in a month...maybe we will get there.

Sounds like a bargain. I would think it would cost more up there as you are such a captive audience. Not too many fuel docks up that way right?

Skip, Good Price! Last time I went to "feed the big dogs" It was $2.32 up here in MICH. And to think I was happy to see that huh!

Skip thats a great price. Last x we filled up $5.05 in Chubb Cay on our way home :smt089 JC

There are actually several diesel pumps on the middle and northern Potomac, but the local SR dealer pumps a fair amount of diesel so with proper fuel system maintenance monthly Racor swaps have become a thing of the past.
Heading to Colonial Beach this weekend. One moth left until we winterize and I am going to enjoy every day.

Not too long ago...

necropost, but found it interesting.

Uh oh. The anti-diesel kids are beating their drums again.

No silly....I was just going through the first few threads on this forum and saw "2.40/gal..." and thought it was interesting in light of several conversations here.

I could care less diesel vs. gas vs potato skins

What is diesel now a gallon? Geez, 2006 wasnt too long ago.

Oops! Sorry.
Thought it was <flame=on> time again.

Looks like a doubling of price in two years. Yes, were not at $4.80 yet, but it's not quite two years, either.

Best regards,
Frank

At the pump here in Bridgeport, $4.75... (not the marina, on road)

And leave the potato skins out of it!

No flame on Frank...just a little necroposting and a chance landing on a 2.40/gal thread.

Wow, doubled in less than 2 years.

But I like potato skins dammit!

Good, satisfy your addiction and then give me the oil to burn in my truck. Deal???

We are heading up to DC for the weekend. Heading home on Sunday I will visit the same dealer's fuel dock. I am guessing low $4 range, minus the 25 cents per gallon for being an account holder, gets me to the $3.90 range. We are averaging 20-25 hours on the engines per month, so we are on pace to run about 160 hours this year. I have just amended the budget to account for the higher cost of fuel. I am hopeful diesel prices will come back down, but am not counting on that.
