Did you go to Chick-fil-A today?

If anyone is "missing something" here is some of the reasons I like the brand...

Mr. Cathy is a first class guy. I know this for a fact and have known it for years.

Every store I've ever been in is...
1.) As clean as my kitchen.
2.) Want to work here? No visible tattoos, no scruffy facial hair, no orange or purple hair. Single stud ear piercing allowed for females only.
3. The words you say most often while at work are: Yes, Please, Thank you, May I, Sir, Ma'am and the trademark "Its my pleasure"
4. I have never gotten a wrong order, never had to ask for napkins, extra sauce or a straw. The employees make absolutly sure you are satisfied & set to go before they thank you again and before they begin waiting on the next customer.
5. Never will you see employees hanging around the store. It is not allowed. You are either working or go home.
6. Its good damn food.

These items just reflect on the actual store. No politics needed. If you want my corporate impressions I have that too.

I've only been a few times as they aren't around here yet, but I've noticed those items you listed. They have exceptional service there and good food and that's why we like them.

It is an exceptionally well run retail business, eat in sometime and see how you are treated by the manager. No other fast food place can compare really.

I do object to the not open on Sunday's thing, sometimes I want me a fricking chicken sammich on a Sunday. Damn christians and their funny ways.

My son has actually worked at Chick-fil-A since he was 14 and he is now 17 and an assistant manager there. He works about 60 hours a week in the summer... He loves his job (and the money). He paid for his own iPhone, paid cash for his own car, etc.

Pretty ridiculous the stories he has about all this. People coming up to the drive thru and throwing stuff inside the window... spitting in the drive thru window... Leaving used condoms in the parking lot... But their business has nearly doubled since Wednesday and they keep running out of food.

So the "new America" is to teach your kids to work hard and piss off the idiots.

Those flaunting support of Chick Fil-A might THINK they're expressing support of free speech, but what really comes across is religious-based homophobia.

When I was in high school, I volunteered at a run-away crisis center. We fed, temporarilly housed, and counseled teens in hopes of reuniting them with their families. The percentage of teen run/throw-aways who are gay or lesbian is dramatically higher than in it is in the general population, so our center had a Gay & Lesbian Support Group. Upon discovering this, a local Baptist church sent us a scathing letter and publicly withdrew their support. Two days later, a 15-year old gay client committed suicide. I'm not saying that the church necessarily has blood on their hands - he was already very troubled, but I have no doubt that one of the many nails in his coffin has their name on it.

I wasn't on that support group team, but I was on-shift during that kid's initial intake. Remembering that, my hands are starting to shake - with anger, and frankly, with disappointment in some comments here.

Trust me - if you THINK that you've never known a teen struggling with things beyond your imagination, think again.

most likely get fire roasted for this but if you cant reproduce you die off.Anything other than a male and female coupling to produce seeds or offspring dies off. Unless of course you are a worm that carries both sexes to reproduce.Thats the part of 2 same sex things, they die off without reproducing . All we have to do is wait and they will all be gone, eventually.
In this country those things are allowed to happen .other countries you would be killed.
Another thing is FREE SPEECH, that is also allowed in this country. Unlike other countries where you are proptly removed from the gene pool.
I dislike only one type of individual, the illegal alien, any sex, any orientation
They use our resourses with out working for them.
Hell ,even the president wasnt born in the USA

So the Baptist church sent you a letter and withdraw their support. What did you think they would do? They're called to support their view of the Bible. As for using that as a way to tie in a young persons death is sick. Maybe someone there dropped the ball and didn't give him enough support or bad advice or whatever but no you use the church as the scape goat.

Speaks volumes about YOUR tolerence for others.

RollerCoaster, I think you're way off base with your assessment that people who went to CFA come across as religious based homophobia. I would have eaten at one if we had one here, but unforunately we don't. And I am definitely not homophobic. We have two gay friends who live in Portland that I stayed with frequently when I was going down there every weekend to put Beachcomber back together after we bought it. I consider them good friends, and they know that I'm not homophobic. Kinda blows your generalization right out of the water, doesn't it.

Also, on re-reading your comments about your job at a crisis center when you were in high school. Did you really have to dig that far back in your personal history to come up with something to use to back up your arguments/comments. What the hell would you expect the Baptist church to do, pat you on the back for going against what they believe. Get serious.

Kind of seems to me as if you were scraping the bottom of your bucket to find things that supported what you had to say. Personally, IMO if you can't come up with something more current you shouldn't start making crass generalizations. But then, that's must my opinion and everyone knows what they say about opinions.

I have to agree. The comment about a nail in his coffin with the Baptist Church's name on it? Really? Now that is really reaching...

And I also agree with Gofirstclass's assessment. Common guy, I really hope you didn't make your story up to try and prove a point. If so, you should run for a Senate seat in Nevada!
