I was able to get to the boat this weekend and bring her home to work on it. I first inspected the block for any apparent cracks.
then checked oil. So far so good. Rigged up the hose to the gimbal. I unplugged the coil. And cranked a few times to circulate some oil. Then fired her up. Took a bit. But she got goin. Let it run for almost 15 min. And felt warm water on both sides of the thermostat. No leaks any were on the block, and no water in the oil.
i ran anti freeze through the hose. Then shut it down. Opened both drains on the block and pored anti freeze through the thermo stat until it can out drains. Cranked it over to blow out residual. The. Put a vacuum to every water hose. Sprayed fogging oil in plug holes and cranked it once more. Pulled the battery. And stuck it on the tender for the next month or two.
i think I'm in the clear with a cracked block. Pending an in water power trail of course. But I will definitely be able to sleep at night
