I've been trying to diagnose a problem with my trim gauge not reading correctly. I was back at the trim pump and noticed that the nut holding the fuse where the battery cable connects to the pump was loose. So I disconnected the battery cable from the fuse connection and tightened the nut holding it on. When I went to reattach the battery cable to the fuse, I accidentally touched it to the nut on the bottom where the green wire was connected (as I understand, this is the down trim wire). Got a pop and a face full of smoke. Once I checked for moisture in my pants, I reattached the battery cable to the fuse. Now the motor trims up, but won't trim down. Doesn't even click when I hit the down button

So my question is, did I just toast my motor or is there a solenoid I can replace?

Edit: Yes, I know, I should have disconnected the battery power at the battery to begin with.
Second edit: Never mind. Turns out I touched it to the ground screw below the green and it burned through the wire leading from the bottom ground screw to the top.

Diverguy, I'm glad you found it.. FYI, in (going out on a limb here) all wiring scenarios the green will will be a ground. I'm no elyxtrician but I have figgered that out over my many years.
