I was considering having my boat detailed by a shop in my office complex. They charge $15 a foot for inside and out. I have not priced it out anywhere else and was wondering if that was a good deal. Anyone have an opion on the $ per foot price for detailing?

There are a few groups that do detailing at our marina and they were in that same range ($15-$17) per foot. They only did the outside though so for inside and outside, it sounds like a good deal to me.

We paid around $350 to have our boat detailed inside and outside last spring. I usually like to do things like this on my own, but when I drive 2 1/2 hours to the lake, I'd rather not spend a day cleaning the boat. Overall they did an OK job. The outside was done nice and lasted for most of the summer. What I mean by that, is when I would bring the boat back to the lift, all I needed to do is spray down the boat and the water would dry off without spots. The inside was not to my expectations. I have a golden retriever and hair gets everywhere. They didn't do a very good job of cleaning up the hair under the seats and in tight spaces. If you decide to get the job done, just be very clear on the scope of the job they are going to do. They call it detailing for a reason, so I expect attention to detail.
