On a 2005 DA 280, does anyone know where the transducer connects into the smartcraft gauges? Also do you know the type/model number? I'm considering getting a sounder version of my next chart plotter. If it's compatible I'd like to connect it to my chartplotter so I can see depth easier than on my SC gauges.

TJ, the smartcraft transducer is the one near your bilge pumps in the center trough, it connects to the harness at the port forward side of your starboard engine. There should be a bundle of wires there with a white label that reads "AIRMAR" PN: 44-031-3-01, Smart P17.

I have a Raymarine plotter/sounder/radar and the installer put a standalone thru hull in and left the smartcraft as-is, so technically I have 2 depth sounders. I'm happy to take a pic of my setup next time I'm at the boat if that would be helpful.
