Depth Finder

[Day Off]

I just bought a 2006 185 Sport. It has a depth gage on the dash that seems to be working but do these things needs to be calibrated to work properly or are they pre set? I see a set and arrow up and down button but the owners manual doesn't really explain how it works. Thank you.
