Anyone know where I can find a Lowrance 3500 depth finder. Lowrance does not support this depth guage and their new models require a new thru-hull transducer. It is no longer compatible with the 3500.

You may wat to look at a Faria Depth Finder as an alternative. They have one with a In Hull (no hole) transducer.

I am considering adding one so I can have an "always on" finder. My Smartcraft finder is only on when the engines are on and my lake is shallow in areas so I like to have it on when swinging on the hook.

If you want to keep the 3500 then Ebay is probably your only choice. I believe the 3500 has been out of production for several years now.

When faced with replacing the 3500 on our boat two years ago I went with a Raymarine ST40 AND Airmar transducer. The Airmar transducer is a through hull, but it is the same size as the Lowrance. Just knock the old one out and replace it with a new one.

Thanks guys,
I will install a new one when the boat comes out of the water.

I just saw a Brand New Lowrance 3500 on E-Bay for the Buy It Now price of $114.95. It is a complete unit.

Have you tried leaving the helm starter switch in the "run" posistion ? I had the same issue when I first got my 380, MM told me to put the switch back on after you kill the engines. The depth, water and air temperature features then will read out.

Has anyone replaced their factory Lowrance 3500 with an ST40 on a 97 330 DA? My concern is the distance between switches...I think the ST40 is 5" and my boat is put up, so I can't measure it. Also, what transducer did you use? Anyone??

Sorry no 330 experience. But I installed the St40 on our 280 in the spot previously held by the 3500. I have my dash panels out for renovation, if you can explain what you mean by 5" I can compare that with mine.

The transducer I used was made by Airmar for a 21 degree dead rise hull. It also fit in the hole previously occupied by the Lowrance hardware.

Sorry, the 3500 is installed between the switches on my 330. I don't know the distance between switches since my boat is in storage. I was hoping someone has made a successful ST40 install in the 330. I'm sure our panels are completely different. Nice to know that the transducer swap was easy. Did you use the Raymarine Airmar P7?

Raymarine ST40 on 330DA

So, there isn't a single 330 owner on here who has upgraded to the Raymarine ST40? Cmon, I just have a coupla questions

Re: Depth Finder - Lowrance Replacement

I'm still looking for anyone who has the Raymarine ST40 or ST60 Depth gauge installed in their 330 Dancer. I'd prefer to install an ST40 ($100 cheaper and smaller), but I'm afraid that neither will fit between the switches. I need to replace my Lowrance 3500 no matter what, so please let me know if you have one of these installed. Thanks in advance for the help. George
