Depth finder 2004 185 sport

I have a 2004 185 sport , and in the instrument gauge cluster there is a dummy gauge in the center of the cluster . Would it be possible to get a depth gauge installed in there ? Just something that would show the depth , just a digital number is all I need . Has anyone done this that can point me in the right direction or tell me if it's possible .

That's the exact spot that the factory would put it, hence the dummy gauge. It's a standard 2" hole and there any number of manufacturers that make simple depthfinders to fit there. Talk to whomever will be doing the install as to what they use/recommend. As far as simple DF's go, they're all about the same.

My boat came new with this Humminbird 610. Simple read out and also has a couple alarms. Works great if all you want is the depth.

I see in this add, the 610 maybe replaced by 650, but that will give you an idea.

I believe the factory install for the transponder is a shoot thru configuration... This is installed in the engine bilge area port side 200mm approx from centreline 100mm approx from transom.
