Deleted “I am so offended” thread?

No I deleted Twitter.... I had two profiles... one profile got suspended for 12 hours like it was it’s job... so I had a back up... but it never got suspended... go figure

My Twitter will probably be suspended soon. I just asked if Jack Dorsey was abolishing the 1st amendment. I only use it for stock market stuff but mainly just post my daily results on there so no big deal.
 
Isn't taking the Feds long to round up the protesters and throwing the book at them. Love to know how many BLM and Antifa rioters were tracked down and charged with felonious trespass and defacing federal property when the burned federal buildings in Seattle and Portland. Talk about double standards! What a S Show!

I said the same thing to my wife. The Dems are complaining about how destructful they were. I mean, not like they took over a whole city and burned down a police station. This whole thing makes me sick and I am really worried about what the next 4 years will be like. I think the democratic party is more concerned with making all republicans look bad and getting more dems elected than they are about helping the people of this country

I did research on the peaceful protest in Kenosha a while back. Most arrests where for minor issues like curfew violatons. I could find no information on anyone arrested for burning down car dealers and shops.

Oh ya ...you are one of "those guys" now... Its crossed my mind as I was censored in the delete too..... you don't pay for twitter and they can mess with you. Its a bit different when you pay for something...maybe a refund would be in order
 
FYI, I sent a PM to Jim about the "I'm Offended" thread that I started. The reason was that the posters changed the direction of the thread and changed it from a discussion about the overthrow and invasion of the Capitol to a pornographic and profanity laced thread full of name calling and insulting.

At my request Jim deleted it. FYI, that is the first time in many years on CSR that I have ever even mentioned a thread to Jim.

Cop out and playing right into the hands of those that want to silence us. It's easy to silence those that run scarred when they get uncomfortable. If you had asked to have the troll that was the antagonist dealt with I could sort of understand, but then again the ignore button works well if you're that offended... I chose to ignore the ignorance. To each his own.
 
Hawk, you're right when you say "To each his own". But when some people choose to turn their anger over political issues into profane attacks against others, that, IMHO, crosses the line. This is a forum for boaters. The owners of CSR have allowed an exchange of political discourse but I doubt they intended to have threads turn into the profane laced thread this one did. That just illustrated how little class some people have and how low they will sink to insult another member.

I did find out that I was not the only CSR member who "dropped a dime" on that thread. To those others who have enough class to recognize that thread had crossed the line and PM'd Jim, my hat is off to you. I would enjoy rafting up with you any time and the first round would be on me.

The left are lunatics and get triggered easily as we all know. It's not a good excuse to suspend the 1st amendment rights for the rest of us. It sucks to have to deal with them, but rolling over and telling the recess teacher isn't the answer. We're in a new era and it's time to face things and fight back even if it makes some people uncomfortable.

It’s a donation to help run the site. I doubt CSR keeps Jim rolling in cash.

The first amendment protects us from government censoring speech. This is not a government run forum.

Jim gives us all plenty of slack in policing ourselves but he can’t make everyone happy. It seems this thread was deleted not for censorship but for abusive comments made against other members. This was reported by other members and Jim had to act.

We did that to ourselves.

If we behave like children in our discourse then we are treated like children and our discussion is taken away.
 
I belong to several other "sporting" or boating type forums. We are unusually liberal here. Anything religious or political are 100% banned on most others.
 
You know we spend a lot of time ,many years talking to people on forms like this and and the members become more like family overtime so much that you talk more candidly about life then you would some real family members , but like any family there is always a few that spoil it for the rest of us I really enjoy my Sea ray family for all their individuality‘s and it has become a big part of my life . I think it’s important that people feel comfortable that they speak freely about things on their mind when they’re looking for
responses from their “family” , but like any family if things get carried away I agree it Has to to be dealt with. It’s hard to be PC and censored when emotions are running high but around the dinner table a discussion can be squashed and hopefully forgotten if it turned bad , but in the digital world if you leave it it can linger forever so I agree with Mike ...Time to table it.

Reminds me of a recent thread where someone accused me of being a pedophile because I (civilly) disagreed with his political views. This is why we can't have nice things.

Thankfully forums aren't govt run. Yet... These forums are now the town square where things can and should be discussed.
