I run an electric unit when not on board. In mild, non humid climates like so-cal I was curious if others are, or are not using these. Thanks.

I use one of the portable West Marine units. I've never had an issue, it was inexpensive and is easy to store when underway.

I use these year round and no power is required. The large containers seem to hold a lot of moisture and are disposable. Keep one near the fridge.

Alternately (if you have AC) , most on board AC systems have a humidity control setting. Just leave it on.

Newport Beach. One electric dehumidifier in the cabin and one in the covered cockpit. Cabin always smells great and the cockpit canvas gets
very little mildew even though enclosed.
