Hey everyone... this is my first post, so be gentle with me...

I'm in the process of purchasing a '92 330 Sundancer. None of the items that made it onto the surveyor's list really concern me with the exception of some forward deck issues. I know this is a problem with this vintage Sundancer and I was curious if anyone had tried fixing core damage themselves? I'm pretty handy (in the construction business) so I'd like to do it myself. I've heard that you can actually replace the damaged core from underneath, but you obviously need to remove the headliner panel(s) first. Anyone ever tried this or anything like it?

Thanks!

I've done it under the gunnels, but never in a finished area.
It's a messy, messy job. If the core is "only" wet, and not rotted, it's very difficult to remove.

How large an area are we talking about?
If it's "relatively" minor- and you're set on this boat otherwise, get an estimate for professional repair, add 50 % to it, and deduct it from your offer. If you choose to try DIY, you can put the $$ towards something else.

If it's more than an isolated patch of wet core, I'd move on and find another boat. Plenty of good deals to be had...why start out with a problem?

My dock neighbor had the same problem on both sides, about a 2x2 area. He had the marina due one side last year and he did the other side himself this year. He did a great job, he did not think it was that hard. I see your in Md, if you go ahead with it, maybe i can get him in touch with you for some pointers. Bob
