Like everybody, my challenge has always been keeping the swim platform clean. It's truly a losing battle. There isn't a product out there, wax or cleaner, that keeps a swim platform clean.

We decided to put this Marine matting on our swim platform and the deck below the transom "trunk" to keep things a bit more tolerable. You can spill anything (just about) on this and simply hose it off. That includes wine, grease and foot prints! I would suggest cleaning the platform under if it is wine though!

It's really soft under foot as well. With the Admiral getting a new knee in a month, it's good as a non slip surface as well. I thought I'd post some pics for all.

Mark, that stuff looks great. Did you glue it down or is it held in place with snaps? How flexible is it as far as stretching, moving around underfoot, etc?

Honestly, don't know how much it is per sq foot, but I will when I see the invoice. Installed it was $800.00.

Mike, it's held on by snaps that are along the edge at the boat. It's rubber backed and very nice to walk on. It's not slippery at all and you simply hose it off when dirty. Dirt just flows through it. It also doesn't hold the heat like carpet does so your feet don't get burned on the hot, sunny days.

How is it holding up? We have a guy in a nearby marina that says he's fixing to start installing it in this area. I've very interested. Just two adults but we have two large dogs. How will dog nails affect this stuff?

It is holding up really well. I have two grandsons off and on this stuff every weekend. It cleans well and isn't slippery at all.

I would assume it's good for a couple of dogs.
