Bought the boat with this horrific indoor oudoor carpeting glued down to the deck. I ripped it up and scratched my head on how to get the glue up. A google search didnt help much. The final solution was GOOF OFF with a #3 steel wool. Pictures from the phone so not the best, but the deck came out lik new. Not a bad $30 solution

I dont see any pictures but that GOOF OFF works wonders.
When i pulled the carpet out of my boat i used a floor scrapper to get the dried glue off. It worked well but scrapped the floor a few times, but it got straight to the fiber glass and took off all of the old glue!

What a pain...
FWIW, be careful using steel wool around the boat. As it disintegrates, even the tiniest piece will leave nasty rust stains on the gelcoat. Be sure you got all of it out, including the hatch gutters. Bronze wool is a safer bet (but more expensive).

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. Newbie boater tips always appreciated!
