I have been having issues with my Norcold not working off of battery. I tried a few things so far, and will probably try a little harder once the boat is pulled. But I figured I would pass on what I got from a company I contacted in regards to a direct replacement. By the way the Tundra manufacturing plant in Mexico burned down and they will no longer manufacture them! Here's the email reply:
Unfortunately Tundra models are no longer being produced. However there is a unit that was built specifically to replace the Norcold DE704.
Either the Nova Kool R3800 or the R4500 with a 704 frame kit was designed specific to replace there competitors Norcold DE704.
Both models are the same width and height but the R4500 is deeper. Nova Kool offered a deeper model knowing that there is sometimes ample room behind an existing Norcold DE704 and utilizing the space gives you a larger interior volume.
The dimensions shown on our web site are of the unit. NOT of the cutout. The DE704 frame kit will adapt to your existing cut out dimensions.
