Retired too. And if it weren’t for calendar on my iPhone i would not know what day it is. As my retired buddy told me, every day is Saturday.

Woke up this AM 0710, nothing pressing, got up went to the head, turned the heat up and went back to bed, up 0915, that’s much better.
Went to the boat today too and warmed everything up and some cleaning. So far a great day.

While I agree with your sentiment, staying on DST is what I've pushed for years. Too many times in my career have I had to drive to work in the dark, only to end my shift by driving home IN THE DARK! Come on, retirement! Just think; once that happens, I could wax poetically like some pirate people we know and love...

When I was working, absolutely DST especially in Florida. Now, I don't really care. Just quit screwing around with the clocks twice a year.

One thing I can't reconcile in my mind is; a state can independently choose to stay on Standard time, but it requires a freakin' Act of Congress to stay on DST!

That seems to be the way of things. It should be the other way around. But too many want this then they won't do it ...

My son who lives in Tempe AZ told me reason they don’t do DST, its too freakin hot and they dont want extra sun in evening, prefer the extra light in morning when it’s cool.

The way I heard it on the news is that regardless of the senate and house votes we will be falling back in October. Apparently the Transportation Department has to sign off on the change. Pothole Pete said the study can't be finalized this year. Seems like he's too busy breast feeding and recovering from child birth to be bothered.

I was really dark at 5:15 tonight. I love those summer nights where it's not fully dark until 9:30.

Other than this, I really don't care what time it is. When I retired, I shot my alarm clock with a .410.

When we switch back to standard time, I'm falling asleep at 9pm and waking up at 4-4:30 am for a few days. Today I made it to 5:15. I don't care which way it would end up.....just pick one way and leave it. Especially on the west side of the time zone, it could stay standard year around and it wouldn't bother me. I don't need daylight at 10 pm in the middle of summer.

If I had my choice, I’d stay with dst, as a working stiff, I like the extra daylight in the evenings to work around the house. That being said, just effing pick one and leave it!
