I have a 2008 Searay Sundancer 330, with an integrated swim platform.

I'm looking to replace my snap davits with a system that lets me keep the boat horizontal, something like the Hurley davits. Given that the integrated swim platform is narrower than most, I'm having trouble finding a solution.

Any recommendations? Photos would be appreciated!

I have the Hurley Davits... I bought mine used from a friend (JC) on CSR... I sent them back to Hurley and they did a fantastic job refurbishing them... If you can find a used set in any condition, for about $250 you can get them back to as new condition. I would also recommend the 10" attachments for the most room on your platform...

Or I can machine a custom setup for you, like I have done for many of the members here, using the existing Weaver snap davits you have on the platform. Send me a PM if you'd like to know more.

I would call or email Hurley, I love my davits, and they were super helpful in answering all my questions.

I have plenty of room on my platform for my dinghy but still wanted it to hang out over the end because I wanted walking access between the dinghy and transom. We spent a few emails and about 20 minutes on phone waying pros and cons and deciding on a mount. Super friendly and helpful people. Once I ordered parts were shipped the next business day.

I went with a Hurley H30 last season before I did a search on Masterfabs stuff, and spent way too much lol. And never got around to putting it on so this season its the second project to do.

On my previous boat, a 420DB with integrated platform, I used all three versions of the Hurley Davit along with the Weaver Snap Davit. Of course, not all at the same time. :)

The only one that worked well for me was the H3O. In fact, I posted a video on youtube two years ago showing the davit in action. You'll find it here:

The strap on the winch will likely deteriorate within a season but it's not much to replace it (maybe it's a higher quality strap now). Todd Hurley has always been incredibly responsive and helpful, as has been mentioned in the thread, so give him a call.

After years of struggling with various davits, I swore that I would never own another boat without a hydraulic platform.

LOL that's your video? Wow it was one of my major hurtles to get me "on board" for it. It actually sold me on it. I wanted to make sure when we took the davit system off and not using the dink, it wasn't an eye sore left on the swim platform, as we are big swim platform sitters lol. Most of my buds are using crazy contraptions as davits and they work but WOW its a lot of hardware and hassle. Thanks for making that video it REALLY was a help. If you look at the comments 10 months ago I posted on it LOL! Wow Small world.

I hear ya Mike, my next SeaRay..... a 44 DB will have a hydraulic swim platform and diesels, and that will be the last one before my "retirement liveaboard" craft that will do a slow crawl to the Keys and disappear in the sunset.

Hi John,

I'm so glad that video helped. I put it up, in part, because I couldn't find any info on the H3O when I was considering it because it was so new. I figured others might be in the same situation.

Here's to you having a hydraulic platform in your near future!

I've only had Weaver and now the Dinghy Caddy, and we love the caddy.

Home Port- you can ignore the PM I just sent you because you answered my questions about the H30. Thanks!

Dale- Can you come close to the functionality of that system with your mad skills?

I can replicate the caddy or the H3O, but I have no intention to do so. Those are established products built by reputable companies, and I would not infringe on, or try to profit from, their designs. My niche is custom machined and fabricated components for boaters, and I intend to stick to that. Now, if someone has their own design they want to see brought to life, or if they want me to design and implement a custom solution, then we're in business.

Totally understood, I didn't mean to suggest you would steal someone else's design, but I am interested in the functionality and have some thoughts on a custom design. I will PM you.

Here is a thread that helped me and many others design a set. Dale did an excellent job on the stainless work for me. Rest in peace Dom!

Thank you for the suggestions - I have been corresponding with Hurley about the H20, but not the H30. The only challenge is the width of the integrated swim platform is about 2" wider than the length of the dinghy. Hurley said that it's too narrow, people won't be able to walk by. I was thinking I could offset the dinghy a bit, so that the centerline was aft of the edge of the swim platform. Hurley suggested I cut some wood blocks to the same dimensions, and test it out to see if it fits.

The Swim Caddy could be an alternative.

I have settled on the H20 and want to get themon before spring (boat stays int he water year round). With the integrated swim platform (I have an '05 340) How do the mounting plates attach to the platform? I don't know the nature of the swim platform's composition (hollow? filled? etc.) Do they bolt on with bolts and toggler anchors if the integrated platform is "hollow" or screws if not? Bolt all the way through the platform with a backing plate? Installation (i.e., drilling holes) makes me nervous
