I'd be nervous about my dink hanging off the swim platform that much, especially in rough seas. Ever concerned?

Would you share the make/model of the worm gear winch you used?View attachment 51872 View attachment 51873
I made my own davit with a worm winch that I run with a battery drill (a worm drive winch will not unspool by its self )
Would you share the make/model of the worm gear winch you used?
Thx, Doug

Phasma, nice pictures, did you add the extensions and can you remove them when not in use?
That's a slick setup!!!Have you considered one of these? After shoulder surgery I figured it was time to make things a little easier.
A guy I know (two people actually) had a Sea Weed Tender roller that worked really well for his center console dinghy on a Regal 4260. Really easy to pull up his tender on the platform. Can get it with a power winch too. Canadian made, all stainless steel. Very pricey though.

That's not pricey, that's ridiculous.
I went with the H30. Yes...expensive, but I can get my 8’-6” with 10HP 2-stroke up by myself without the winch. I do it with one hand on the dink and the other on the transom door handle. The 340 platform sits high off the water so it takes considerable effor. I might break down and try the winch next season. If you have a smaller engine you shouldn’t need to use the winch. Overall, I’m very happy with it. I still have room to cross to the starboard rear cleat, and access the transom locker for water and EL hook ups.
Do you have the extension? Do you have to use the winch? Any issue with the winch hitting the transom? The H30 worked great for us over the last few years. We are looking to move up next season, but the H30 has been a major plus for our 340. Most likely, we will carry it over to our next boat. Attached is the best pic I have.
Fitted ours on our 340. with a 5' wide rib it is tight to squeeze behind! I would get the extension.Do you have the extension? Do you have to use the winch? Any issue with the winch hitting the transom?
Winch and arm just slides off. The importance is to make sure the winch arm is set long enough so you can winch the dinghy up enough to obtain central pivot point. you will find this pretty much is the back of the davit ramp being as far back as the dinghy Transom. Fit the H3O as a 60:40 offset on the swim platform.Do you have to keep the winch on? Are you able to lift without the winch?
