Impressive! Really nice work - the curve looks great!

Missed this post the first time up. Very nice:smt038 That laminate looks like Walnut. Been thinking about doing something to my dash but there is so much to keep up with.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the great feedback.
This boat which I imported from Florida to Australia about 4 years ago has been spot on.
For the size, cabin comforts that it offers and being trailerable and addionally not like the newers models with the engine sitting under the floor, has allowed me to have the best of both worlds in aspect to cruising with the family and Full on Fishing off shore. It handles alot better than the more newer boats on offer here in Australia.
Just recently I have upgraded the Engine from a 5.7L to a 7.4 Bravo which on the weekend took it out for the first time for the water test. It was awesome. I will post some photos soon.

aazeng, the instrument panel looks awesome, prob. the best I have seen done yet. What did you paint the dash with? I am looking to do that to my boat, but am just not sure what paint to use. Also, did you pull the windshield or leave it on for that?

Hi Eric,
Im more than happy to assist. The dash it self it laminate. The timber work behind the dash Facia is 3ply laminated which enabled the curves. The Dash it self is 3 ply rolled over and cut in sections with fibreglass to finish shape. The top of the dash is coated in Vinyl wrap. I'm more than happy to email anyone interseted photos from the project that may assist. Email me at anthony@aazeng.com.au for further details.
Regards
Anthony

Hi K-9.
The sub frame that I had used to fabricate the dash was 3mm ply which I was able to shape acoordingly. I have also heard that some custom builder also buil it out of foam which is easier to shape. Once the shape is decided the coat it with resin the glass over.
Let me know if I can help out any any way.

Great job on the dash - Like K-9 I am in the process of restoring my 1981 Sundancer (SRV 245) and will be replacing the dash.
I like what you have done and will email you for some details.
Regards
Jim
