Where can I order the wood grain dash panel material for a Sea Ray to make my own?

Are you looking to replace them because they are faded? Or are you making completely new ones? The reason I ask is most of the main dash panels (gauges) are "inset" where the gauge sits in. Meaning, if you bought a "stock" piece of wood-grain stuff, the gauges would no longer be inset into the hole. Of course, that's just an aesthetic thing - but, at least in my opinion, it does seem to "class it up" a bit.

If they're just faded, have you though about vinyl wrapping? 3M Di-Noc is one example of a good, quality product. Talking to a reputable sign/lettering/graphics company could provide other avenues.

But, to answer your original question, if you're just looking for blank panels (or reproductions of your existing), another source is Tecnografic Inc.

Lawnboy, I have a friend in the business <<chuckle, chuckle>> who has made a few panels for me. He does a great job, charges a fair price and does them in a timely manner.

His name is Mike and you can reach him at somesailor at gmail dot com.

Please tell him you got his information from GFC. I don't get anything out of it but he likes to know who is sending him business.

Ah, the downsides to new electronics! :smt001

I've heard good things about all of the places mentioned above.

Also check with local automotive customization shops. They can fabricate a panel and match the woodgrain. Most do it often when retro-fitting automobile electronics.

If all else fails a thin piece (1/4") piece of black starboard large enough to cover the old hole with a cut out for the new device would work and kind of blend in.

Tecnografic in Fort Lauderdale actually manufactured the panels on my boat for Sea Ray. I used them when I updated my electronics. It was a perfect match. I told them the model of Raymarine units I was installing and the panel came with perfectly sized cut outs. The screw holes were sunken to match the other panels. I highly recommend them. 954-928-1714

I have used Tecnografic a number of times. They are the only source for panels for me.
