I could hear the trees pop last night, first time this winter. I can pretty much tell how cold it is by how far the dog gets from the steps for his morning leak.

Yeah, it was so cold in SF this morning I had to put a lightweight sweater on. It was down to 50 this morning! BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

I could hear the trees pop last night, first time this winter. I can pretty much tell how cold it is by how far the dog gets from the steps for his morning leak.

Our house "popped" so loud last night that I thought someone came in through the garage entry door.

When the mercury drops to - 20 I often think just how tuff livestock and animals in the wild are...not all of them have a place to get out of the weather.

Dang it, that -20 even looks cold from here, and it's almost 50 degrees right now. But that's part of the reason we live here, not in MI where I grew up.

That and scooping poop out of the yard. If prisoners at Guantánamo were forced to do what my neighbors do picking up after their dogs, Amnesty International world call it torture.
