We are headed to the Dana Point, Lagunna Beach, Newport, etc. area next week. One place that we are going to stay is at the Lagunna Cliffs Marriott. Any suggestions on places to go, see, resturants, bars, etc. We will definitely be spending some time at the Dana Point Marina and shops. Thanks in advance.

There is ia nice restraunt at the mouth of the harbor entrance ,you can eat out side and watch the boats come and go,we saw seals and dolphins while we ate lunch.Sorry i cant remember the name it was ten years ago.

Get in some sort of boat and cruise around Newport. You will not be disappointed!

Yeah, The Harbor Cruise is a good way to see all the famous boats in front of the famous houses. I used to row past them in my dingy when I was a kid. There is also the Island Queen that used to do daily trips out to Catalina, a nice way to spend the day. Then you can drive to the tip of the Balboa peninsula and find a place to park. From there you can walk out to the ocean side next to the jetty. This is a place called The Wedge, famous for it's shorebreak waves with fools crazy enough to body surf. If you're lucky you can get about a 3 second ride before you go over the falls. About 1 1/2 miles north of there is the Balboa pier. The restaurant out on the end of it has always been pretty good. If the weather is nice take the top deck open seating for a spectacular view up and down the coast.

That is a great Marriott just above the Marina, I've stayed there several times. The outdoor seating at Coffee Importers in the marina is a great place to take in the weather, the people and the boats. The Pacific Coast Highway in either direction is a great ride.
