ok so im trying to figure out how the boat da280 is wired and this is what ive found and need help with

3 batteries. I have a 1/2/both switch towards stern and a on/off towards bow. The on/off starts star board. The 1 position on other switch starts port, but port wont start on position 2. it just clicks. load tested all batteries and all passed.

where do I go from here. Shouldn't positon 2 start the port as wll since it appears port/house battery and on this 1/2/both switch??

thanks in advance

Not knowing how your wired makes it difficult but in most cases it would mean that #2 position has a lousey ground , dircty cables or a weak /dead battery

I put a new battery and load tested the others. Today i will check the cables and maybe switch batteries around ?

I have 12v on both switch 1 and 2. Port eng sounds like it turns once and thats it new battery thats measuring 8oo+crank amps

Checked the ground. Im stumped. Anyone have some suggestions for me

Where exactly did you measure "I have 12v on both switch 1 and 2"? But, just because you have 12V doesn't mean there's enough amps.... back to dirty/loose connections. There's no way to verify without physically removing, inspecting, cleaning and re-connecting. Check at batteries and back side of switch. It doesn't happen often, but it could also be a failing switch.

My mechanic said same thing. Possible bad switch having bad connection. Will allow small 12v current pull loads but not enough amps when starting
