Da220?

I have a 1990 sundancer DA220 with 5.0LX engine using 15 pitch aluminum prop. My max speed on GPS is only 33mph with just me on board and nothing else. Is this right? RPM is at about 4200 and no more beyond that. I can cruise at 3500 rmp and the boat will do 23 to 28 mph depending on water condition.

What speed is everyone else with this boat running?

I've got the same boat - '90 with the 5.0LX. 15.25x15 Al prop, bottom paint. checked speeds last summer w/gps on calm lake (no wind or current) 2 on board 3/4 fuel no water.
Numbers you show match mine almost exactly - 3600rpm cruise ~25,26mph, max speed at ~4200-4300rpm (not really pushing that original engine much harder) ~32.

was running 14.5x17 al prop previously - top end ~34-5 @ 4100rpm but it felt like it took forever to get on plane w/2 aboard, full fuel. just felt like a little too much prop - might look for a 15p SS if I really want another couple mph... like that would matter :smt101
