Accidentally cut through my transducer cable- 6 wires with copper/aluminum sheathing. Do I just solder the wires together, or are there metal connectors that I can use?

Soldering would be best. Use shrink wrap to seal it though. butt connectors could cause a resistance that you dont want.

Those cables are typically twisted and shielded to prevent EMI from corrupting the signal. Expect a poor or inaccurate signal after a repair.

Use gel filled heat shrink, not the cheap single layer hobby stuff. If you dont have a weather tight seal, the wire will corrode in short order.

Wow that looks like a real cool repair item I will keep it in mind if I should ever damage my cable.

Airmar makes little splice connectors. Best to use these. Call me if you want to buy one.

I second the Airmar in-line splice kit, I used one to splice together a garmin transducer to a lowrance head unit. At $25 it isn’t the cheapest option, but rock solid.

That is the truth!
