Cummins 480ce fuel burn difference

On my 480ce at 2200 RPM I am getting and different fuel burn. 14.5 on one motor and 13.5 on the other. Why do you think that would be?

I believe one trans. runs in reverse and that has a different ratio.

I'm pretty sure he'd have the ZF 280lV like I do. The ratio is the same in F and R.

I believe the ratio is the same, but was told one has an extra gear to reverse rotation.
