CSR Rendezvous 2009 – Atlantic City NJ

Saw Gary's slip yesterday. (Gary who?) Very nice empty slip. Oh well. We had a late start, but running 25-26 knots, we caught up with Pokey and pulled into the channel behind Stan, who was right behind Jon and Ron.

Forgot the interface for the camera, so no pictures yet. Did get a nice picture of Vince (Ryker Bella) fishing behind his boat for his daughter's fishing pole. The amazing part is that he caught the pole. Forgot to ask what he used for bait.

Trump came early to reclaim their tables this morning, but Cheryl and I talked them into leaving them for another day.

Anyway, you guys are missing it! Great bunch of people. Frank H is especially happy today. He and Karen had a pretty good sized group of people aboard for dinner last night and no one spilled beer on his cockpit carpets!

Best regards,
Frank C

Looks like a rotten time to me...

Glad I saved the diesel fuel.

I know you will all be jealous of me tomorrow while you are all slaving away trying to get your boats home and I'll be relaxing in a 1/2 size coach class seat on a Delta commuter jet for 4 hours with a 3 hour layover is hopping Atlanta airport... so there...

Bastards.

I had no deckhand on board....his foot is apparently still stuck in the up position, so I had go it alone....

Here's a shot of the convoy in one of the No Wake zones along Long Beach Island...

Gary tried to put the malukie out and he sent a cloud to follow us for while, but we all 'Willed' it away and the sun, blue skies, light winds and calm seas prevailed...

Everyone, all 21 boats, made it in to their slips safely.....

IMG_0197.jpg

The "Table of the gods" was just unbelievable....delicious foods and desserts.....I found my way back to table at least twice....Turtle thinks he saw me there 4-5 times, but he was drinking a lot of Stan's punch....so don't believe anything he says...

Oh...and that trouble maker was there too....He was plugging something into my boat's power....I had to check and bring in sniffing dogs after he left...

IMG_0181.jpg

The word got out quick that the Par-tay was on H dock, so those F dock guys made sure they had their comms working..."You Guys should get here quick..the food looks great...but there's no F'in Ziti...."

IMG_0177.jpg

Jon knew that the Table was set up between Frank's 410 and Dom's 380 (wink...wink) with CATs....so he wanted to apese the gods and get an extra helping...

IMG_0191.jpg

Last night was just great and today the sun is shinning, folks are up at the pool, some went into town.....my wife, Frank's Wife, Bob's Wife and Rich's Wife all took the jitney to the walk of outlet stores....I can't wait to see how much money they saved us today..

We haven't seen Jitts yet, but there is a rumor he is here in cognito....

I'm sure there will more to come.....

Harrah’s Resort and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Present The Largest Fireworks Display South of New York City

On Saturday, July 4, 2009, a spectacular fireworks demonstration will illuminate the skies above Atlantic City’s Marina District. Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa have joined forces to sponsor a freedom celebration fireworks display, making this among the largest fireworks show on the entire East Coast.

The show will last approximately 20 minutes and will be an elaborate display that will be a highlight of the holiday weekend. The show will be orchestrated by Fireworks by Grucci of New York, the “First Family of Fireworks".

The show is open to the public with viewing areas opening at 6pm at both properties. The fireworks, which will be discharged from between Borgata and Harrah’s Resort, are scheduled to begin at approximately 9 p.m. Weather and wind conditions may affect the timing of the fireworks show.

The fireworks are choreographed to music, which is broadcast over 95.1 WAYV FM radio. Spectators can bring their portable radios and tune in to enjoy the perfectly synchronized fireworks show without any sound delay.

While most were at the dock all day socializing, drinking wine/beer and smoking cigars, it became clear that someone was missing.....he was later spotted in a compromising postion....

We thought that Frank (fc3) was just resting and refueling his brain cells so that he can continue to give out all the expert advise and political views here on CSR.....However, after further investigation, the truth came out....

I think PETA may have something to say about this!!!

Guys

It has been a great trip. It was a pleasure meeting all of you (including the one 380/410 owner who calls me troublemaker). Robin and I look forward to the next one.

We are departing the dock and headed for the house. Should get back by dinnertime.

Fair winds and Godspeed to all.

Rick.....have a safe trip....hope to see you guys again.....It was truly a fun time...

Well....all good things must come to an end......most are shoving off to day to get back for work on Monday morning.....a few of us are sticking around for another day....

Last night the fireworks were great as usual...

We did miss having the head pot stirrer at the event....maybe next year he'll make it....till then, a few of us got together to let him know just how much we missed him....

Gary...even though we never got to see your book, you are number 1 in our book.....

Well, I made it back to Norwalk. I'm beat. Left at 8:30 and pulled in at 4:30. Vince and I were on the inside with about 4 million other boats while frank and mark were gloating on the outside with flat seas and dolphins. Finally Vince and I broke out to the outside and wow, it was unbelievably awesome. We even were treated to some dolphins too. It was so nice that I decided to just keep going. Now I'm going to take a nap, after I braid all of my dock lines.

We just got in after a 175 mile ocean run with a fuel stop in Ocean City, MD. Left at 8:30 and arrived at 5:30. We are headed for the house to take a nap before I go to bed. Like TT, I am beat. The autopilot fritzed out (can you say Ray Marine fluxgate compass) so I was in manual mode the whole way back.

Started to rain shortly after we pulled out of Ocean City, MD, but, the Atlantic Ocean looked like a lake. Good ride even with the rain.

Everyone have a safe trip back.

LET THE STORIES AND LIES BEGIN!

Your cruise director here. Let me begin by thanking EVERYONE who attended and even those who didn't. Helping to organize this event was great fun for me and would not have been possible without a little help from my friends. What a great group! Everyone was responsive, quick to cooperate and above all else, enthusiastic and passionate about "this thing of ours." We should all be very grateful to Dominic, who was a plethora of inside information. Bobby Bacala, who we should call "The Leaner" and Capable leader of "Team Inside." Thanks to Frank C, designer and creator of the fabulous name-tags. Team Pokey gives a big shout-out to Ed for his considerate trailblazing and local knowledge that got the Pokesters out if LEI without incident. Superb job by all the chefs who slaved to set "The Table of The Gods" with more delicacies than you could shake a stick at. Thanks to Mother Nature for arranging the most beautiful weather, the calmest seas a captain could ever wish for and safe passage of all souls. And finally, we express gratitude to the attentive staff at Farley State Marina who was good enough to accomodate us and allow us to run this whole shindig.

Now, we need to start planning for next year...

Stay tuned for THE BLOG and MORE videos...

What a great weekend! It was so nice meeting everyone. Good food, good conversation, good cigars, good weather, what else could you ask for?

I made it back today and I'm beat. Looking forward to the next time.

Hope everyone else made it back safe as well.

Thanks for all your help Ron.

Very nice time. We enjoyed everyone's company. Well, almost everyone's. Some people withheld their company so they could work. Oops, guess I should have warned Frank that word was about to pop up.

Good trip back. We started off on the outside, but switched to inside after a while. Should have stayed outside the entire way. Oh well. Did pretty well on the both trips down and back. Engines ran okie dokie @ 3400 - 3500 giving 25-27 kts, which is good in my book.

Anyway lots of fun. Finally got my snaps installed for the new canvas I bought last year. Big thank-you to Rod and his handy dandy snap installing tool.

BTW, Dom, it Linda wins with my $20 matching funds coupon, I want a kickback.

So Alex... When are you going to start planning the next one? Guess I need to turn the count down off.

Best regards,
Frank

That IS my finger in the corner. Hard to tape with one hand on the wheel. Pardon my piss-poor video editing - there's definitely a learning curve...
