CSR Rendezvous 2009 – Atlantic City NJ

4th of July week has always been a boating week for us and we've always enjoyed "chasing" the fireworks around the upper Chesapeake Bay area. A change of pace may be in order for 2009.

Put us in the pretty sure category - we'll kick it around some more over the holidays. Dinner at Carmines?

We love Carmines' at the Tropicana....there's also a PF Changs and The Palms there....and the Trop is another of the AC Hotels/Casinos with a neat 'mall' to walk through for the Admirals.....gotta keep the Admirals happy.....

Most likely I'll be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Also, most likely, I'll be there with a 38DA and 340DA. We usually ask for slips away from the main dock and closer to the outside T Dock....I actually prefer the T Dock....

So is the whole gang going from BIH to Atlantic City or did BIH get scratched?

That sounds like a plan for having a quality time. I'll bring my share of cigars and liquor and will gladly join you guys .

I hope my dock neighbor wont mind music and dancing . By some reason last year people in the slip next to us didn't say hello in the morning .

Ok folks. Just called Farley - They can't book anything til after Jan 1 but if we call then we'd be the first reservations. GOOD NEWS- book a block of 10 or more boats, get 25% off :smt038.
BAD NEWS- not on holiday weekends:smt013

So, it's gonna be $4/foot, whether we are a party of 5 or 55.

Two ways this can be done. One of us can call and book all the slips and hold them on his/her credit card. OR, your cruise director calls and gives them a head's up that X boats are going to call - can we be put in a section (so that we keep Alex away from the the peace-lovin' folk). Each captain then calls and books his/her own slip on own credit card and requests to be put in "the group." I vote we all use Dominic's credit card, but if he says no than we should all just use our own. There's a 48 hour cancellation requirement and NO SHOWS will be charged (then caned and keel-hauled).

Quick scan of this thread reveals the following likely attendees:

Me, Dominic, JamesV, Rudy, Gary, Stan, Frank C, Jack, Brian(Isaac), Bob, Rich, Frank H, Eric.

Anyone else?? Better hurry - we've only got 6 months to get this baby organized.

Add to that list Bob (Gale Winds) 2006 38DA and Rich (Titan) 2005 340DA. You may want to do like was done before and put the list in the first post of this thread for easy access and updates.

I also spoke with Farleys with regard to reserving the T on H-Dock. Their policy is that they don't reserve the T unless you are a larger boat....like 75' and up. However, if the T is available, we can get it...that's the good news. Bad news for Gary and Stan is that the H-dock T will only hold a ~80' boat so two 48's won't fit. If the G-dock T is available, Gary and Stan can be together there just one fairway away from us. If the G-dock T isn't available, then Gary and Stan will get slips on F-dock....and they can help that guy get his electric cable out of the water over there. So, I guess there really IS a G-Dock and Gary will be on it.....!!!

If the H-dock T is available, two 40's can fit....I've already asked for the H-dock T.....

In any event, the dock master will reserve the slips for us at the end of the H-dock close to the T.

There...is everybody confused now?

Oh....my credit card is broke...it's Christmas...

Alex has the first post so he'd have to edit it to include all attendees, right (?) I've updated the roster of my post above, which is actually POST #53.

I think option #2 is best since it make each party responsible for their own slip arrangement and payment. I'm sure most folks wouldn't feel very comfortable to keep their card's limit frozen for such amount and they shouldn't. So, if we all agree to this, then our cruise director would only have to do preliminary reservations with dock master.

As for slip assignments I'm sure we didn't expect them to give up the prime large spots 6 months in advance for smaller boats. So, if we can choose desired spots on the desired dock (most likelly "H") they way (lets say last two boats closer to the shore) that in case if large ("T") dock opens up, we can just move those two boats on the "T" dock and not have to move any other boats.

Just a thought.

Here's the docks layout.

As you guys suggested I've placed the list in the first post. It's at the bottom with diffent color. If you think it's better to move the list all the way to the top, let me know.

Alex.

Add Eric to that list Alex. Also have a friend from Middle River who may attend. He's got a Fountain 38. Anyone got a problem with that??

H-dock anywhere is fine with me. We were in the 3rd finger last summer and I could barely hear the band. Getting out further towards the end is probably better esp if we have a "dock party" one evening.

Being at the end of the Dock is best with a large group. That way, we don't have to constantly move our chairs/tables as everyone else walks the dock to get to their boat...they'll have to move as we walk past their boats....

This is July 4th weekend and it will be crowded if 1. the fuel prices don't get crazy, and 2. the weather is good. Even with so-so weather, if the fuel stays reasonable, it will be crowded.

I've seen on 'another' popular board, that some folks there are also talking about a July 4th trip to AC....and I'm sure with the fuel prices low and the cold weather setting in, others are thinking the same.

We can't do anything until Jan 1. In past years, I've actually driven down to make the holiday reserveraions, (Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day) the day after New Years...otherwise....we were wait listed.

We've already got 12 pretty definite and it looks like a few possibles.....I have another possible....36? Formula....

This thing seems to be getting some head steam.....

Anyway....the dock master will reserve a blok of slips for only so long.....and most likely, the 'so long' part is going to depend on how many slips and how many more reservations start coming in. Also, we are not the only group that will want the 'T'.....it's prime realestate on the Dock.

So, with all that said....who IS our official cruise director.......?

I'll nominate me, if that's possible. But do we need quorum?

The dude I spoke to over there told me that if we called on Jan2, we'd be the first ones to reserve. I take that as "your the first one to even call and ask about that weekend."

I'm off on Jan2 so I'd be happy to call first thing in the morning that day to set things up with a block of slips, at the end of H dock. I'll let them know Norm (Dom) will be coming and wants his normal bar stool at the end next to Cliff (Gary).
