CSR Rendezvous 2009 – Atlantic City NJ

I would volunteer to be the director but you probably don't want that as people may not show up.

:smt043:smt043:smt043:thumbsup:

Gary, this is exactly why you fit in for the role. I'm sure that most were simply waiting for you to step forward. We couldn't have better cruise director . I guess, you also have mic with a loud speaker.

But, seriously it'll be great if you could do it. You have the knowledge and hopefully the time. I'll be happy to help as much as I can.

Alex, here's your assignment - you bring ALL the beer

Ron, are you implying that "Boat A Bing" is not properly balanced and needs some adjustment? If I pull up to Budweiser plant will they fill my fresh water tank with their finest beer? I figure that would be easiest way of transporting it. :smt043

At least now I see why we had no volunteers until Gary stepped in.

I was joking.

I don't have enough experience for that role.

Was it Ron's beer request that made you change your mind?. If you don't have the experiance, then I don't know who does.

Organizing is really pretty simple. Pick a date, listen to a few people complain about said date, negotiate the date and etch it in stone. Call for a slip, tell every one you called, supply them with the phone number and whoever wants to go books his/her own slip. Once you're there you pretty much do what you want to do. I'm sure all 85 families at the inner harbor get-away didnt spend every waking moment together and dine at the same place ("Table for 197 please, non-smoking.")

It would seem that we have a good concensus for a July 4th thing. I'd say we plan on arriving Friday (or earlier if anyone so desires) and staying til Sunday morning (or beyond if anyone so desires). Plan on paying $4+ per foot, book any shows, etc. you may be interested in, figure out where the best place(s) to eat are (I vote for this joint)...

and make arrangements for some to walk the dog, take in the mail and do your work at the office!

I thing the big dinner at BIH was a table for 36. Sounds like Ron just volunteered to be the cruise director. What size do you want your cruise director's uniform?

We'll bring the dog with us. It's easier.

Most likely I'll be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Also, most likely, I'll be there with a 38DA and 340DA. We usually ask for slips away from the main dock and closer to the outside T Dock....I actually prefer the T Dock....

Not a problemo. See post #8 above. But to be honest, I'd rather be

Try taking an 11 year old that eats nothing but chicken fingers to Le Cirque :smt013

We can always crash the buffet at either The Borgata or Harrahs.....they've got chicken fingers, pigs feet, fish heads, cows stomachs....you name it, they got it....even an 11 year old can find something there they'd like to eat....:smt038....lots'a desserts too!!!!

Hey Ron,

I’m sure you had described the simplified version, but if this is the case it’s not a big deal at all. I was just under the impression that you guys make it more of a group oriented event. Few years ago I had the opportunity to organize camping/rafting trip for about 20-25 tents, which was pretty involved since we had to worry about every meal, including simple things like drinking water (it’s not easy to feed group of 65-70 three times a day), and all of the activities for 3 days. I’ll miss those days.:smt089 Unlike nowadays, it’s not easy to get the same number of people to stay in woods for few days. Everyone needs 5 star accommodations.

Since everyone makes their own bookings this makes things even simpler. I was also under the impression that during the long weekend we’ll have at least one day raftup/ gathering and a dinner, which could be on the same or any different day.

I would agree that since most people are ok with the destination and looks like July 4th weekend is the date that could work for most. This is very good start. All is left is to vote for couple of good places to crash for dinner and we’re almost set.

Are you guys looking to do include some fun activities or do prefer just relax and hang out? I guess, we can always ask Gary for deep sea fishing trip ? I’m only kidding.

I've been on the 'H' dock before with groups that had a 'bring-a-dish' night. It's a lot of fun and a great way to get to meet everyone. It requires only a little more planning, but IMHO, it's well worth Ron's time.... Seriously, we would need to call the dock master with a 'group name' and request a block of slips near the 'T' dock....it works best at the end of the dock. Actually, if Gary is serious, he should get the 'T' because so far, he has the biggest boat and then he can be on the 'H' dock with the rest of us....otherwise, he'll get pushed over to the 'F' dock. What has worked in the past, is that every boat just puts out a small table in the area behind their slip....sort of kind of in groups. Or, if it works out, we can move the tables to the 'T' area depending on the amount of boats and the table sizes.

However.....this IS the July 4th weekend, so Ron is going to have to act quickly. :smt038 and with the price of gas the way it is now, we certainly aren't the only ones looking to plan early. In years past, we've had to book holiday weekends at the AC boat show in January. This year, the AC boat show is the first week in February. But, our 'director' can always call the number I listed above to get the skinny. You'll need an estimate of the number of slips for each side of the 'H' dock.

Everyone would just call and make their own reservation and put it on their own credit card.

Another good thing would be to start a role call.....I've confirmed: One Sweet Day, 410DA, Gale Winds, 38DA and Titan, 340DA.

Weather.....that's a whole different issue, but Farley's does let you cancel for weather with no charge.

We'll be there if you do it on the 4th.... Put Four Suns down...

I can't wait to ride the Jitney buses again.

Damn I'm good - without even trying I've organized the date, the docks, a progressive dinner and booked the entertainment (Gary). I'm such a good delegater. Alex, rather than bring beer, you are going to be "tent monitor."

Don't forget, Dom also offered to not bring lobster. Sounds like this is getting pretty real. I better get a gift for my wife and ask her if we can go.

Looking good. Since Julie is already taken, can I be Isaac? I already have the costume.
You can be anyone you want, even Brian.

... Or Julie. I don't think anyone will care too much. But plan on having a picture posted on someone's blog.

Best regards,
Frank
