CSR Northeast Flotilla 2016

Don't let Arlene hear you trying to convince me to buy a bigger boat! It will get both of us in trouble.

I may still try to squeeze out an extra day at the end of the trip, but need to see how it plays out for us.

Ok everybody hearts the plan. Saturday at the boat show one by one we all pull Harold and arlene aside quietly and tell him what a beautiful 48ft dancer with diesels we found him for a great price of let's say 110k. And we also hear that Harold has a person interested in his boat. If she hears it from multiple people she will start to believe it! C how that goes. Don't worry Harold by the end of the night we will not tell her we were joking

Jonathan, you know you can't sit this one out too. The prerequisite of upgrading to diesels applies to you just as well. I know, I know, 3116s....LOL

C'mon - Dancers and express can go by truck (Diesel truck, does that count LOL)........2k each way for me..........although I don't think mine is ever coming back again - its just that nice boating in FLA.......and i use it more now than I ever did even though its a 1500mi commute

Maybe the short beam boats but with a 14 ft beam it's a whole different animal

When there’s a will, there’s a way!!!

Although I agree on FL boating, but there’s just so much to do and so many places we still haven’t covered in NE. There’s a reason why so many boats, yachts, mega yachts are returning to NE. It’s the place to be in the summer.

BTW, as you might have noticed, the Flotilla is growing its sea-legs. In the past, Block, Newport or E.Greenwich were most remote destinations. We’re doing Martha’s Vineyard and Hyannis this year and more remote destinations are on the radar.

ya - i think your right, mine is still a "wide load" but at 14' i think they need escort cars.....bigger boat, bigger problems (problems I'd like to have LOL)

I know - I do miss having it here when we're home in the summer - who knows, because it is so economical to go back and fourth for me it may yet be in NE waters again someday....

The biggest challenge I’m aware of is the height, not the beam. Wide load trucks are very common. So, as long as you make it under certain bridges on the major roads, you’ll be fine.

Hmmm...interesting. My cousin lives in Miami and drives an 18 wheeler between FL and MA. I'm sure if I paid for gas and had a trailer we could be boating in FL over the winter. What's the going rate for a trailer for a Semi that could haul our 320?

Easy solution run the boat to an area in jersey were there's no bridges and a clear shot to i95! now you guys got me thinking STOP

Did you know that I transported my 320DA from FL to NJ? It's wasn't too big of a deal. Your boat isn't much different. Keep thinking....

My 340 came from Lake Mead Nevada to Cape Cod with the arch up so it can be done almost cross country

You'd need a low profile trailer, as I recall, to avoid taking off the radar arch and keep the height under 14'. There's a certain permit (a bit more money than regular) that will need to be ppurchased. I think I paid under $3K between Tampa and NJ.

We need to have your cousin do a CSR special. Do couple of runs having 2 boats on a trailer. The next thing you know, the flotilla will be cruising to Bahamas.:wow::thumbsup:

I stopped at a shipping booth at the show last night and I asked him for a quick quote from the island to ft lauderdale he quickly told me we do it am the time and is 7500! I would rather cruise there for that money.

Was it a quote for round trip, maybe? For one way, it's a rip off.
