Excellent, sounds like a great "after-party" brewing for Montauk. Now, I just need to see if Arlene can get the time off from work.

When are people thinking about going to Montauk? I'm definitely in for Shelter on that Sat/Sun. I may have to work that week, but I could possibly do Montauk the following weekend (if that's when people were thinking). We love Montauk. Spent a week last year and the year prior at MYC, and the year before that we anchored out at the south end of the lake. From there, we could easily bike to the beach. Where do you guys stay in Montauk?

Mmontauk is going to be our stop to break up out trip home. (If it happens) we will be leaving the flotilla as scheduled on Sunday (the final day of the trip Aug 8th I believe) and traveling from our last port to Montauk, spending the day and night and then traveling home Monday.

Taylor's Island sounds great to me for the feast. You can put me down for P1.

Taylor's Island is our vote as well!

Great! Crew names: Scott and Velvet, Boat name: Our Town, 410 DA, Home Port: Boston, MA

Welcome aboard, Scott. I added your info on the first page.

Apparently the organizer was too busy enjoying his boat in the sunshine of key west and has forgotten about us Northeast summer boaters. We need this thread to get us through the winter!!!! Damn it:smt013

I am with you Joe!! The one bad thing about having my boat in my backyard and leaving it in the water for the winter is that I see it every day, but I can't use it!!!!

Oh, that’s just great. I’m glad you and I are not married. I’m using all means of modern communication to “keep you entertained”, but you’re still not happy….LOL

I tell you guys, it would be much better coming with me for the winter to FL. Your boats belong in water, not on land.

Now its officially a party! I think we should have alex add the layover onto the itinerary?

I think there’s a decent group forming up for Montauk to make it an port #4. I guess, we just can’t stay with 3 ports, ha?....LOL

Here's new proposed itinerary:
Port 1: Shelter Isl
Port 2: MV
Port 3: Hyannis
Port 4: Montauk

Question, what day do you want to travel to Montauk? Since it's just a layover stop, do we put it as one night? Does this breakdown look ok?

Day 1 (Sat 7/30) - Shelter Isl (Feast of the East)
Day 2 (Sun 7/31) - in SI
Day 3 (Mon 8/1) - SI to MV ~ 85NM (4-5hrscruise)
Day 4 (Tue 8/2) - in MV
Day 5 (Wed 8/3) - in MV
Day 6 (Thu 8/4) - MV to Hyannis ~ 20nm (1hr cruise)
Day 7 (Fri 8/5) - in Hyannis
Day 8 (Sat 8/6) - in Hyannis
Day 9 (sun 8/7) - Hyannis to Montauk ~ 85-90NM (5hrs cruise)
Day 10 (Mon 8/8) - travel to home port day.

I would love to bring my boat to FL, but that would be a heck of a trip for a gasser.......Although, I do remember reading an article about some guys from Long Island driving a 270 Amberjack to Fort Lauderdale.....hmmmm

We will likely leave Hyannis for Montauk on Saturday. (or at least that is the idea today)

Hey Alex my boat is right were it belongs in the water! Couple more years when I upgrade I think I'll b bringing it down!

I think leaving Saturday for montauk would probably be my preference. This way is not just tie up 5 boats for one night and we also get to enjoy myc for a day. But if everybody wants to leave Sunday I'll do that to. I'm not doing the trip from Hyannis to Montauk solo. So it's up to the crew I'm ok with either

It looks like we have identified a prerequisite….. upgrade to diesel boat. J

Let’s wait for others to chime in regarding the day leaving Hyannis. I’m not sure, but it’s possible that if majority goes to Montauk, we’ll leave a bit earlier too. I was planning to stay on the islands for couple extra days, though.

I guess, no one was in favor of the idea of taking a day or two extra…

Don't let Arlene hear you trying to convince me to buy a bigger boat! It will get both of us in trouble.

I may still try to squeeze out an extra day at the end of the trip, but need to see how it plays out for us.
