Hey everyone. I thought I'd start a New thread.
We have successfully started the trip, All the boats including mine are running great and we're having a great time.
Our group consists of :
"DawgFish" a 2452 Bayliner
"Go Aweigh" To, Also a 2452 Bayliner
"Brady Bunch" a 225WE 2002 SeaRay
Gengiant aboard "Gypsy" a '94 270DA SeaRay
DaveM aboard "Sandpiper" also a '94 270DA SeaRay
"Sundancer" aboard "Valhalla" a '89 300DA SeaRay
"Nehalennia" '00 260DA Searay

I'll post some pictures later today, but we're currently in Victoria, Canada. Most of the group left Roche Harbor yesterday around 10Am while Brady and I set a crab pot and let the kids go swimming.
It paid off, while leaving Roche we picked up the pot with 6 keeper Dungeness Crab, 3 too small, a small dogfish and starfish.

Anyway, all is going great. We stay here one more night and later today, like I said I'll get some pictures posted.

The weather could not be better and the water conditions from Roche to Victoria was as good as you could expect. It was slighty 18"-24" chop leaving Mosquito Pass for a 1/4 mile then it flattened out and was a great crossing.

Man... your chest is more pasty white than mine.

I'll see what I can do about that.

Here's my Daughter Michaela at the helm while I'm cleaning the crab on the swimstep.

Yes, that's Michelle, my Cousin Brady's Wife. She'd cold blooded. It's been in the mid 70s everyday and really nice. As the sun sets though it's been cooling off and she doesn't ever get "hot". I'm, loving it,but yes those are gloves believe it or not.

My wife is the same way. Saturday as we left to go to the boat it was 94 degrees. She asked if she should bring a jacket for after sunset. I gave her one of those looks, if you know what I mean. It got down to a chilly 87 degrees as we made our way home.

Right now it's 6:25AM and we're in Nanaimo, We leave in 30 Minutes to cross the straights of Georgia and go to My Uncle's Island. "The Bill Collector" from ClubSeaRay(Mark and Angelina) aboard the "Lina Lina" are here aboard an absolutely beautiful 1998 450DA. WOW! what a boat. That is amazing.

Anyway we have lots more pictures to post, but we'll be doing that in the coming days and maybe depending on a connection up North, it may be early next week be able to post more.

Scott aboard Sound Dreams(aka Stompor) says he has wifi aboard and can share.

He and Julie are great and it's been nice for their kids to play with are kids. They're having a blast so far as well.

It's a little overcast this morning but calling for clearing early this afternoon with a high in the mid 70's

awesome pics, but we need some of you cleaning the crabs. Good to see some color in you and your kids.

Todd, Great to hear all is going well! Keep the picts. coming to!

Great pictures Todd and good to hear the trip is going well. We are looking forward to more pictures and some funny stories to rival Gary's. :smt043

After our stay in Namaimo, we headed to My Uncle's Island, Caldwell Island. We spent 2 days there and had great weather and tons of Clams oysters and around 50 shrimp or so.

Here's all the boats tied to the Dock.

After two days there we ran up to Lund, B.C. for supplies: fuel(Gas 1.40L), beer, ice, some groceries, Dawgfish needed a new house battery, lunch.

We were happy to see fuel had dropped from $1.57L($5.96/gal) in Nanaimo to $1.40L ($5.32)at Lund. We then continued on to Prideaux Haven in one of B.C.'s Many Marine Parks, set aside for non-development.
Here's our Achorage a few days ago at Prideaux Haven.

It poured rain at night and was nice during the day.

I was the only SeaRay on the North group

After we left Prideaux Haven in Desolation Sound we headed to Gorge Harbour.
As soon as we left Prideaux Haven "Go Aweigh To" had the Guardian System on his 6.2L automatically throttle back to an idle. At first he wasn't sure what it was. All vitals seemed fine. Then his temp rose slightly so we figured he had something in his raw water pick up.
So down Doug goes to retrieve the Giant Squid or whatever it was that clogged his intake.

Then we were back on our way

Once we began to enter Gorge Harbour, I now know why they call it that now.
PrideauxHaventoGorgeHarbor7-27-087.jpg

It's a rustic place but had a great restaurant Doug and Lea enjoyed, a store, laundry, showers, fuel and power. The docks were very rickity, but we still had a good time.

We were at Gorge one night and then decided to go to Smuggler's cove which was a nearly 80 mile run. We got from Gorge Harbour on Cortes Island to just South of Powell River to Grief Point. I know why they call that Grief Point as we were stuck there 2 days with 30+ knot winds and seas were 4-6 feet.
..more pictures to come(the internet connection is so slow here picture uploading takes forever).....

today we should meet back up with the Southern Group, Valhalla, Sandpiper and Gypsy.
Hopefully they have had a good trip.

WOW....What an awesome trip.....Pics are beautiful!
Have been waiting for your updates! Hope the balance of the trip goes well

I am glad to see your having a good time Todd. It looks like you are enjoying your 260. How is that leak? Keep enjoying yourself.

Signed,

Jealous

No Leak, she's been running great and burning around 8.5 Gallons/HR. I'm happy with that unless you're in Canada paying nearly $6/GAL. We're back in the States now. When we left Bedwell, we went to look for whales on the West side of North Pender Is, and along the West wide of Stuart on our way to Friday Hbr. No see dem Orcas. Anyway, We're here in Friday and the rain has set in. We're all here, except Brady Bunch is Due in around 7PM.

It rains in the summer? Haha kidding I know it does up there :). I am glad the trip has been a successful one. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
