So, Ryan and Amy (Sea Drive; 52DB) and Donna and I, along with trebell (Todd and Lauren) have plans to go to fabulous Cape May, NJ from Sunday, August 24th through Tuesday the 26th.
We are going to stay at the Canyon Club (http://www.canyonclubmarina.com/). They say they have plenty of room, so all interested parties should join us.

Dom? Rondds? Larry? Stan? Gary--- you should be up for another 600NM run by then...

Actually, Cape May is only about 120 NM from me... If I go on the outside. I can dump a load of crap off while I'm on my way.

Wow....the admiral and I were just talking Thursday evening about a trip to Schooner Island marina in Wildwood for 8/20-23...Wednesday through Saturday. I called today and confirmed they had slips available.

We both cleared up time away from the office for those dates. I will have to wait till Monday for us to both check these dates at our offices. If we can.....we're IN!!!

Are you stuck on Canyon Club? Ever consider Schooners?

Frank H...Frank C....all you other Jersey-ites.......what say you guys?????

I'll have

I thought you said you were in Cape May.....that's Wildwood!!!....Take the boys to the boardwalk and put them on the sling shoot ball....they'll never get upset in 6 foot seas again after that thing shoots them in the air......

Did ya'll eat at the Ravioli House?

OK... I made a right turn after Cape May inlet and went 3 miles..

Susie and the kids did walk down to the boardwalk. I couldn't go because I had a run-in with the metal end of the hose this morning in New York after filling my water tank and can't walk on my right foot without it bleeding:

I think I need stitches but what's the worse that can happen? Get some flesh eating disease and from the water in the Hudson River and they have to cut off my foot?

They did find me a t-shirt down there though:

I'm going to bed... after taking more advil.

boy, you do have a lot of problems with your feet.

You should probably wrap yourself in bubblewrap from the knee down.

Dom-
Talk to me about Schooners...
The main thing is that is must be "nice" (per the admirals); it needs to have good electric and decent piers (per the captains) and it absolutely must have a pool (per the crew).
If it meets these crtieria, I could see mving the show there.
Let me know!
Thanks, hope to see you somewhere soon.

Schooner's is a well run marina. We stay there 1-2 times anually.

It has clean facilities...showers, heads, grounds. The slips are well kept and the docks are all floating....and....yes it has a pool.

Also, for the kids, the boardwalk is less than a miles walk down local, quiet streets. A minitaure golf is close by and a good ice cream shop. There's also a few nice family style restaurants in walking distance. The one caveat may be slip availability, depending on how many boats decide to come.

Canyon club is very nice also, but it is somewhat isolated and caters to the large fishing type vessels.

They also have those very high quality pooper scoopers like up in Nantucket.

OK...Here's my scoop....I can't make it for Sunday thru Tuesday.....We can both get off Monday but we have other 'issues' at home that can't be remedied.....

So, Linda and I are planing to leave our home dock early AM on Friday, 8/22, arriving early afternoon Friday and then stay Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night leaving the marina late morning after breakfast on Monday, 8/25, and arriving back home late Monday aftenoon.

So....Tim....after you settle in on which marina, let me know....we will be at Schooner. I wouldn't mind moving for one night to be where ever you guys are.

This should make for a vey nice late summer cruise!

Stan, here's our chance to get that stogey in!

Ryan-
You up for the Schooner place? I made reservations yesterday at Canyon Club for both of us. I will call Schooner and see what kind of room they have.

FYI.....Last night's Port O' Call was filmed at the Canyon Club....the main topic was a 54 Ocean Yacht.

Unless this is diesels only, I may be interested. Ironically, I have 2-3 boats from our marina that were looking to head to canyon club that same weekend. We've stayed there before and it is indeed a very nice place. The only marina I've seen with concrete floating dock. Also has some of the most expensive private fishing boats in NJ. The infinity pool is a nice feature; but the main attraction is that the club has some connection with Lobster House so they can get reservations where just about no one else can. Lobster House is a must if you go to Cape May.

Heard good thing about schooners as well but would probably lean towards CC as walking through Cape may is a fun family event, unlike walking on the Wildwood boardwalk with the out-of-control teen crowds.

I'm in for either Marina....They are both very nice. I'm on a slightly different schedule as I posted above.

I just need a decision so I can finalize my Sunday night reservatoin.
