CSR Delta Get-together

Well guys, I spoke to the marina manager at Oxbow about some possible dates. I even wrote them down but now can't find the paper I wrote them on. However, I remember that almost all of July is open including the weekend of the 4th.

The one thing that may be an issue is the number of boats. The guest dock at Oxbow can only take 10 boats.

So I really need an idae of who might be interested in the gathering so I can get a boat count. It does not have to be at Oxbow and it does not have to be in July but to plan accordingly I really need to get an idea of how many boats we might have attending.

So send me a response if you think you would like to attend this gala, inaugural event. Please respond with a yes and some dates that you could attend.

I am going to do my best to pull this off. I am looking forward to meeting you.

How is the marina there at Oxbow? I am already thinking about relocating my boat to a marina farther up in the Delta since it seems as though the majority of our boating will be in the 1,000 miles of Delta Waterways! Willow Berm is very expensive si it's out. We will look around the Delta Loop as well as Bethel Island I think? Any pointers? We travel from martinez so it will be a haul to get to her...

Ken,

We love Oxbow. It is owned by the Korth family as is Willow Berm and Korth's Pirates Lair. Your boat would go into "D" Shed where we are and the fees are $355/month plus power. Our power runs about $12-15/ month. Cable is also available as is free Wi-Fi.

We also have use of the guest dock with free water and cable TV. There are free BBQs and a great pool. There is also a play area for the kids and dogs and several miles of levee to walk on. It is pretty secluded and away from any cities or towns with Isleton (Pop. 975) the closest. Rio Vista is about a 20 minute drive. We see owls, otter, sea lions and sometimes the not-so-rare Delta Party Aminal in and around the marina.

The most significant downside is a 20-30 minute ride to get to fast water at the Mokuolmne River. And the same ride to get back to the slip at the end of the day but we use that time to let the engines cool down, tidy up the cockpit, listen to some tunes and have a last soda pop before we get back to the slip. Also, Martinez to Oxbow would not be fun early on a Friday evening if you have to take Hwy 4, but from Antioch to Oxbow is only 15-20 minutes. We have friends on our shed that live in San Ramon, Vacaville, Sacramento, etc. We have even made great friends with a couple that live in Hanford and come up 2-3 times a month. That is a 3 hour drive.

It really is a great spot. You should check it out sometime. Come and spend the weekend at the guest dock sometime when we are there and we'll buy the first cold one.

Count me in, sounds like a great time. The Oxbow sounds like a perfect place. I was there this weekend as a matter of fact.

July is ugly for us: wife is going to Alaska with her mom on a cruise, basketball and volleyball camp for two kids, Scout camp after that, and then off to the San Juans for the last two weeks of the month. June and August look much better for us, but don't let us stop you if the date is the 4th.

I have been to Oxbow to look at a 300DA before purchasing my 320. It seemed like a pretty nice marina but I am concerned about the drive even though I would rather pay to drive my car than my boat. I met a guy with a 2005 420DA a couple of weeks ago (blue hull) so i am sure you know him. He lives about 10 miles past me in Pinole so my drive is less than that. I also have a friend on the Georgiana Slough that I would be able to visit easier.

I have to battle traffic getting to my marina if I try during commute or get out of town days already!

Hi,

I am a first time poster and I hope it is OK to start in this thread.

I'm in the market for a 290 Amberjack for sale in the SF Bay Area. I can't find any. I found 4 in SoCal but I have never been aboard this model SeaRay and don't want to travel south until I see one.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Amberjacks are nice, especially if you big into fishing. The Sundancers make it more difficult to land a nice fish. I end up on the large swim platform to do that. It may be worth a trip to SoCal if that is the boat you want. It would trailer back up here with the right truch & trailer or for about $1500 you can have it trucked up for you.

There is an Amberjack thread out there, the AJ owners were very helpful. I had been looking to get a 270 AJ because of the versitility with the more open cockpit. Amberjacks are very rare on the West Coast compared to back East; most Western AJs are in the Seattle and SoCal areas.

Still looking for the right price and features on a used 2007 270 AJ with the mid cabin berth. Good luck!

Well, we pulled the trigger and signed up for a berth at Willow Berm Marina. We'll move up there on Memorial weekend. It will be nice to be in the middle of everything up there!
