Cruising from Knoxville to Watts Bar

That will be a great trip. When and how much time do you plan on spending on your trip? We boat on Chickamauga, but have spent many summers on Watts Bar. Check out Blue Springs Marina as well. Good restaurant and bar.

I almost did the inverse (Watts Bar to Knoxville) on Tuesday the 13th (2nd day of ownership). I went from Watts Bar Dam up almost to the I-75 overpass. Then I started looking for gas. Beware, there are no gas stations past (north of) Caney Creek on Watts Bar Lake. So coming south, you will have no problems, but going back north, be sure to fill up there. BTW, they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays... I found out the hard way. It is a nice trip though.

We are presently doing a cruise on the Tennessee River. There are two boats – a SeaRay 268 and a Bayliner 245. We started at Knoxville on the May 13 and plan to cruise as far as Nashville. We are presently in Chattanooga enjoying this city before heading down river. We did stop at Blue Springs over night. Had a great meal in their restaurant. A little noisy as it was Saturday night but it quieted down by 10pm. The Shrimp boat turned trawler gave us a tour of his work in progress. We found the best gas prices so far at Caney Creek - $3.80/ gallon. Its hard to believe that’s a great price. The river has been beautiful. Lots of great places to anchor out. The Marinas have been great. The people are all helpful and friendly.
