The tennative date is now the actual date of the Arch cruise, July 14th. You should sign up by the 7th. call the St. Charles MM to do so.
 
Just to let you know in advance it will cost $25.00 per person... When you call them you can get more details.
 
Hi!!!

New guy here!!! What cruise are you guys talking about? I am planning a trip from Atchison Ks (mile 429 or so) to the mouth next summer. If there already is something planned It might be neat to be there for that! Either way, it should only be about a 30 hour trip.

Let me know if there are any events or festivals that I may want to plan for!

It's a cruise from roughly the confluence of the Mississippi River and Illinois River to the Gateway Arch in Downtown St. Louis.
 
Where would I look to find more info?

It looks like the mouth of the Missouri would be about half way to the arch on your trip, I will be comming down the Missouri it might be neat to try to plan this to meet up on the river!
 
Alton Marina is just above the Melvin Price Lock and Dam. That is not a bad area. If you are looking for the boating people and places. If you go just about 10 miles up river from Alton - You are at the confluence of the Mississippi and Illinois River. There are quite a few restaurants and marinas in this general area.

Riverbills.com has a lot of the links with the goings on in the Alton Pool. Alton has a good fireworks show. It may be a good place to stay for the 4th. Not sure which months you have everything planned.
 
I really didnt have anything planned as far as dates yet, I am just getting the logistics worked out, where along the river has lodging, etc.

Ill keep an eye out and see if we can make it down for some of the events.

As for timing, a lot of it will have to due with the river condition. Last year at this time the river was so low, the water was 3 feet away from the very bottom of the ramp!. Course thats 400 miles up the Mo. river. This year the Mighty Mo is full!!

So we'll see.

FYI... Went on the cruise this past Saturday. Weather was great and the waters were calm... well at least till 46 or so Sea Rays hit the water! A good time was had by all (as far as I could tell) I'll post some picts. in the near future...
 
Wish I could have gone! :smt089 It would have been too much trouble to find a truck to trailer the boat up. But I'm glad I didn't plan it since the boat is in the shop.
 
Well Brent here's what you missed... I don't know if they will update the pictures again or not since there are none of our return to Alton Marina. If you look around in the pictures you may get a glimps of us! :grin: The also aren't any of the picts. posted from in front of the arch. They did however give all of the captains a pict. of them and their boat in front of the arch with a MM frame when we arived back at Alton.

Update: They just posted the pictures of each boat in front of the arch...
 
If anyone is interested in this cruise this year it will be sometime in June... Call the St. Louis MM for more details and an exact date.
