Cruise Club

I live in St. Louis and have always wanted to go on a cruise but I keep my boat at LOTO. When I was in high school, my mom's boyfriend took me out on a Bayliner demo that he had (he worked at Bud's Place.) When we were returnin at night we ended up smacking right in to the side of a channel marker and it sounded like it put a hole in the boat. Fortuanely it wasn't as bad as it sounded, but it was a nice gash in the gel coat and beyond. I haven't been on the river ever since.

Great pictures  Got to love Rivers, my type of boating.

I am not sure. For the most part the river is 12 to 20 feet. With the occassional deep spot. River Boating is the best.

Skolbe,

Are you going again this year?

Did anyone see pictures 56 thru 59? It looks like a 200 Select and it is totally out of the water as it flies across that wake. :wow: What was that guy trying to prove? :smt017

You mean your 260 will not do that any more like your 240 would  :smt043  . Feel sorry for the ones up front. Sure would have been cold if they ended up in the drink :smt021

We will go again this year if the water levels look good. If you notice in the next picture - I am swinging wide of that guy and going around him. It was really cold that day. The guy was jumping the wake of a 390 - that is always good for the prop shaft. I am sure the guy will be complaining when he starts having issues with his boat.

Skolbe, Do you think they will cancel the cruise this weekend? I think the MO river is supposed to be 11' over flood stage by the weekend. Don't know if I want to do that much log dodging. :smt001

Have you heard how high the miss is supposed to get? All I've heard is that it's supposed to be up but no one is saying how high...

I am leaning to not going. I have to cross the Missouri today. So - I am going to take a peak.

 Let me know what you think...

I don't know about the Mississippi, but the Missouri River is suppose to be only about 4 feet below flood levels of where it was in '93 later this week.

Just heard from MM and the cruise is cancelled for this weekend. It's going to be re-scheduled for sometime in July.

I guess this will put all those new levies to the test... :smt100

Brent, you should try and make the arch run in July! Bring the boat up, go on the cruise and get that second battery installed! I brought my BBQ pit to the marina last weekend so we're all set!

It would be a blast! Everytime we get the postcard in the mail, my wife and I think how fun it would be I'm going to consider it, I just have to borrow my brother's truck. Last time I used it though, I cracked a head. :smt021 What weekend is it? Where do you keep your boat?

I just looked at the MO - it doesn't look good. I am going to pass on the Cruise Club - but they may reschedule. Because above Chain of Rocks down you have the confluence of the Mississippi and the Missouri - when I looked at the Missouri - there was more debris than I would prefer and it hasn't crested yet.

MM left a message today... The cruise is definitly off for this weekend. They are going to reschedule. The tennative date is the 14th.

Brent, I keep my boat at Lake Center Marina in St. Chas.
