There's another thread regarding a creaky floor/engine hatch but I thought I'd post my easy solution to mine here . . .
I didn't feel like adding new weather stripping so I just happened to try this . . .
I put piece on the engine hatch edge and folded it under. Works like a charm! Just keeping the fiberglass edge of the hatch from rubbing in the deck grove took care of it. Completely transparent. I have no idea how long it will last or if it will wear though but for $2.50 and 3 minutes I'll take it.
