Boat Info
310 Sundancer 2001
Engines
5.7 Mercruiser 350 mpi v-drive
Equipment:
2012 5.7 mercruiser mpi in a 2001 310 sundancer.

Background:
Engine was running beautifully for a 10 hour run. Dropped it to idle and by the time I got it to the dock the starboard engine stalled. Now strong crank no start or even a rumble.

I've pinned it down to the fuel pump not cycling on when the ignition is turned on. The relay clicks but no pump hum. Does the fuel pump have a fuse or breaker? What's a common cause?

Ideas? Thoughts?

Thanks!!

Pull relay and check pin 30 for 12v power with a voltmeter.
If power ok move to next item, find fuse.
pump #1
Relay #13
Fuse 15A #15
This should be your wiring

The relays can burn out the contacts, cheap try.
Also the relay socket pins get hot and loosen up not making contact.
Jump the relay pins with a short piece of wire about 16AWG should do.
Pins 30 and 87

If the pump runs fix the socket &/or relay

I should be able to get that done tomorrow. Thanks!

Also try pushing your throttle to 1/4 or so. If it starts, it's likely your IAC valve.

(I think an IAC is present that year??)

I was hoping for that. It didn't start. I appreciate your help.

There are 2 relays one is the fuel pump the other is for the ECM .
I would start there first . swap the relays from the other engine.

Do you know where to find the fuse box that 15 is in? I have a complete Sea Ray break down of the boat and don't see it.

Thanks!

They cover will be screwed to the engine, fairly close to the relay. you pull the holder out of the cover to see the fuse.
Some are under the ECM cover, newer engines have one large with all three fuses.

Not going to be in the Sea Ray parts list/book it is a Mercruiser item
