Does anyone do any boating at crab island or anywhere near Destin, FL. I will be out and about in the area this summer, just wondering if any other fellow CSR members would be around.

If gas prices will ease off a little, you will see us out there a couple of times on trips over from PCB.

It is one of our favorite places to go. Spent many Sundays there last year. We usually launch from Navarre Beach and cruise the ICW to Crab Island. We wll be there as soon as this non boater friendly spring weather clears up.

I'm usually there about once a month. A fun place if you don't mind the crowds. You can usually catch a school of dolphins on the west side of crab island (the deeper channel) in the mornings before the crowds arrive. If you are up for a scenic day trip, follow the intracoastal west to Pensacola, to Fort Mcrae and Fort Barrancas. Also, the Billy Bowlegs festival in Ft. Walton Beach is coming up i June. Park your boat on the intracoastal for a day of mayhem.

Thanks guys. It seems like we should have our own CSR aquapalooza at crab island this summer. I plan to spend most of the summer tooling around the choctawhachee (sp?) bay. We are planning a few trips up to P-Cola, with stops in Navarre, and wherever else we get the urge. We were out Thursday and Friday at crab Island, not to hang out, just cruising around. Saw lots of dolphins, and basically just enjoyed ourselves.
Not sure if any of you have cruised in the choctaw bay to Rocky Bayou state park, its a great place to picnic, ski, tube, hang out with friends, or whatever. My group of friends gets together a few times every summer to do just that. Maybe, if anyone is interested we can all do something like that this summer. Let me know
