I'm looking at a new boat and I don't like the factory electronics, too much money and wrong GPS chart system. I'm looking at the Standard Horizon CPV350 for these reasons:

It has C-map GPS, they have the best charts for my lake.

It has a built in VHF. It's a busy lake with good cell coverage but VHF is cheap insurance.

Since the boat has no depth sounder and it's a rocky lake, I would also get the fishfinder black box option. This would also help with occasional salmon and smallmouth fishing.

Any feedback or expereince with this unit?

The CPV350 is an awesome unit, has a great screen in both brightness and resolution. The cmap charts look nice too. I actually prefer it in many cases over Garmin. What I don't like is the way you zoom in and out with the knob. For this reason alone I would recommend getting a CP300 instead w/o VHF. The CP300 is the same unit except no vhf, you zoom in and out with actual zoom buttons. Your can get a Standard Horizon black box vhf like the PS2000 and have virtually the same setup.
