Cover system kover klamp frames

No, no experience with it.

The clamp idea is a nifty design. Although, I could almost swear I've seen that type of clamp somewhere else - like a hardware store or something. I'm not sure what exactly it was marketed for - but not boat covers. The price isn't too bad, but you still have to go through the hassle of tying down an awfully big tarp - can be a PIA since it's just a big rectangle and doesn't fit the shape of the boat.

I'm pretty sure EMT isn't galvanized like GRC, but I think it has some type of coating on it. Too what degree it'll resist rusting, I do not know.

Personally, I'd just fab something up out of 1-1/2" PVC or 2x3's. If you wanted to get crazy, you could even cut a 1" slit in the long part of a PVC Tee to snap onto your bow rail. Another idea would be to have pockets or guideways sewn into your cover - then just slide the 2x's or PVC into the pockets.

I think it's a neat idea, but overkill. You can make something that's much easier to put up and take down. Less expensive, too.

I built my structure out of PVC pipe. In a normal winter, I think it would have been just fine. I had to do a lot of maintenance to keep it up and keep the snow off. We got 93 inches of snow in last winter! Most of it came in a 3 week period. The last time we had a winter like that was back in 1968! Hopefully, we'll see more like that to prove that global warming is just a farce! Either way, I'll do the same thing again and throw my 7 year old 60 x 40 tarp over the boat another year. Yes, it's rectangle but it's not that hard to tie to the trailer. There is very little wasted tarp and it covers the boat from head to toe.

I gave this product some serious thought last year but in the end just paid the shrink wrap man again, which I am doing yet again next week. Looked like a ton of work, not to mention taking all this stuff down again in the spring and storing it somehere. The shrink wrap is like a $650 drug fix each year but it is effortless and works perfectly.

I built a PVC tent cover last which was fine for rain but when it snowed the cover that i used would streach and then build up. so always looking.
I guess I will need to go higher. I think It would of been better to just use wax & wally wax for the none-skid and just use the Moring cover. Tell me again why the outside of the boat can't get wet?

I just completed constructing my Kover clamp frame on my 310. The Kover klamps worked great and the pipe frame also. When it came to putting on the 50'x30' cover on that was a real pain in the ass. It's like the prev. post there is so much extra material at the bow and stern. It's covered but I'm not happy with the way it looks.
I will try to cut the extra off. I also puchased the Kover clips to tie down the cover. You can put them anywhere you need them. Work great.

Has anyone tried using the shrink wrap as a cover without heating it and shrinking it.
Just a thought.

Jim, how high is your frame? I just used a 20x40 tarp on mine and it was plenty long enough and covered to about a foot below the rub rail. I made a crude rope and tube framework that uses the arch as the high point. We don't usually get alot of snow but who knows? Last year I only tarped the area from the windshield to the transom and used my mooring cover as a second line of defense. I used the mooring cover again this year but covered the entire boat this time. I hope it doesn't sag and hold snow/water. We'll see.
