Trying to find a decent but inexpensive cover(s). Either a full enclosure or cockpit and bow separates. I go to my boat most days but still want it covered but want an easy on and off cover. My boat doesn’t have snaps so I just want something with pull ropes. The badly wearing covers I have, have cutouts for the bimini poles. Thanks

See if Great Lakes Boat Top offers the newer style full cover that Sea Ray has been using for your model. It has a ratchet in the hem along with cutouts.

You said you might be interested in bow and cockpit covers but it also seems like you don't want anything with snaps? That's the only way that bow and cockpit covers will attach.

FYI... "Full enclosures" typically refers to the setup where there's isinglass and canvas from the bimini to snaps around the cockpit.

I have a $2,100 quote from GL, I might consider that. Didn’t really want to spend that much. And yes all 2 piece covers I’ve seen are with snaps. Thanks

Great Lakes would have the original cockpit covers - but those would need to have the studs on the boat to attach to. We can certainly get them from the factory.

Their sister company Westland Covers also shows an "exact fit" cover for that model. This is generally a full cover that goes over the rub rail and has a belt strap with a ratchet. This is not an in-water cover and would require the removal of the the bimini frame. It's more of a storage cover and it is also available in a variety of fabrics.

If interested I can get you more information as we are distributors for both lines. You can send me your info on our website www.covemarine.com and I will contact you to follow-up.

That would be GLBT's two part cover that includes the cockpit cover and tonneau cover. The package includes all the support poles also. These covers do come with the snaps but your are required to install the snaps locally. You will need a quality snap installation tool or hire an installer.

If you decide to go that route definitely contact us and get the CSR discount ;)

Thanks Kevin, I have seen the two you refer to, but I’d like something easier to take off and recover while in my boat slip. Not so permanent, more temporary style.

Unfortunately without removing the bimini supports from the windshield and aft gunnel I do not see anything that can easily be thrown over and just strapped down since the strap would have to go around the frames. Feel free to contact me with any other questions.

Not sure if this applies or not, but I bought a Covermate sharkskin “exact fit” cover for my 2006 SR 185 Sport through Overton recently. I put it on this weekend and it’s pretty decent. It didn’t have any poles but the entire cover has a pull cord that is tightened at the stern and has trailer straps as well. It’s a “winter cover” for now so I added a pole with straps that run bow and stern under it.

It’s much easier than the bow and cockpit mooring covers that snap on.

That's like the "exact fit" cover that I previously mentioned. These Westland Covers are great covers and I recommend them for winter storage all the time as they are light weight and repel water and snow well (with proper structure below). The problem is they are not great for in-water storage since you can't run the straps under the hull and all other framing need to be removed. I used one of these exact fits on my 260 Sundancer for years as winter cover.

Yes i look at those although i would have to cut slits for the bimini poles, but thanks

I do not think there will be no way to cut openings for the bimini frame and supports and still keep the belt strap intact that is required to tighten the cover down around the hull. The best you could do would be to open holes and remove the frame pull down the cover a little and put the frame back in place. You would need to do this at all four points.

Agreed, not a good solution. Thanks for helping

The newer Sea Ray style "full cover" I mentioned above does exactly what you want... which is why I mentioned it :) It has a ratchet strap in the hem WITH cutouts for the cleats AND bimini legs. Where ever the strap has a cutout for a bimini leg, there is a quick-disconnect coupler and the cutout is actually a "slit" that velcros back on itself.

I had a 270SD, in a slip full time. I had the snap on canvas from SR. Removing and installing was as easy as you can get. Having the 2 pieces, bow and cockpit, also gives you some options....we used to snap the bow cover on when we got into rough water so we weren't taking it into the boat, we put it up some times for the little grandkids to get under and out of the sun. Sometimes when it was cold we'd put the bow cover on, shut the bow access door, and it stopped the cold air from whistling through the boat, much warmer in the cockpit then.

Good to know, thanks

Lazy Daze, do you know how or where i could see some pictures of the type cover you refer to. GL sent me a website to view but it doesn’t show fitting the bimini poles.
