My Starboard engine lately is getting harder and harder to start, and its getting progressively worst. It's almost like there is not enough electric juice to start it. It cranks and cranks and it eventually starts if I play with the throttle, crank it for about 5 to 10 seconds and a few tries. It seems to be worst while starting it warm or after a run.

I have replaced the cap and rotor, it has new plugs, new batteries, I have checked for grounding, battery connections, replaced the fuel pump and have checked the flow (pressure) from the tank to the high pressure fuel pump. The line is clear. I have also hooked it up to a computer and all is fine. Fuel pressure is within the factory specs, but on the low side. While testing, I turned off the engine and the fuel pressure dropped to zero immediately. This prompted me to believe I may have a bad fuel pressure regulator. I am starting to get desperate.

Have any of you had similar symptoms? Does this sound like a fuel pressure regulator issue? :smt100

You might have a leaking fuel injector. It might be flooding your engine due to one of them staying open.

Very true, but wouldn't this show up on the computer scan? Also, I would smell fuel or have rainbows on the exhaust. I do not have that it burns clean.

Yeah, I think you would smell some gas. I am 99% sure that it wouldn't throw a fault. If the pumps are charging the system and then you lose pressure. that fuel has to be going somewhere.
