My 1994 Sundancer 290 has a painted aluminum radar arch which not only is loooking bad compared to the rest of the boat, but I am concerned about underlying damage from the effects of continued exposure to salt since I keep the boat on the northeast coast. The paint has blistered especially where the arch meets the fiberglass and where light fixtures radar and antenna mounts attach. I am considering removal of the arch to completely prep and paint with everything else removed but worry about opening a can of worms since it looks like the side windows (and windshield?) may need removal also. Perhaps painting it in place would be wiser but not as thorough and having to mask off etc. Has anybody else given their radar arch the business?
