correct prop for a 1991 220 DA with 5.7 MPI ?

Hello. I just purchased a 1991 220 Da with a 5.7 MPI . It has a Alpha Gen 2 drive. Would anyone know what the correct prop would be? The Boat weights 4000 LBS empty. Thanks so much

The prop is 14.5 x 17 according to the searay archives prop chart, and you should be turning 4600 rpms.

I've got a '93 230DA which is very similar and weighs more (4500 lbs empty). She's equipped with a little 4.3LX which is basically equal to a std 5.0; currently spinning an 18 pitch prop and still capable of hitting WOT RPMs in the correct range. As Gregg stated, book pitch is 17, but you're cranking more hp than that.

I'm thinking if you've got a 5.7 MPI you could probably go up in pitch to 19 though outdrive gear ratio will also obviously affect this choice (along with expected load - do you typically carry a full load of passengers/gear or not).
