I just dropped the boat in today. Checked oil prior to launch (dealer serviced last fall). Both engines looked to be about a quart high. Called dealer to let them know... Of course, they said to run the engines until warm and re-check. Well - I did that, but engines still have what looks to be a quart too much. There's two lines on the dipstick, one that says add and one that says ok range. Its higher than the ok range by about an inch. Should I leave alone or have them remove some oil!?

This is a quote from the service manual

"May cause loss of engine RPM, oil pressure guage fluctuation, drop in oil pressure, and hydraulic valve lifter noise at high RPM"

The maintenance section also has the following

Never run the engine with it over filled - the exception would be if it was filled and not run afterwards. Then the oil filter would not be filled unless they pre-filled it before installation (preferred). Prefilling it makes sure you have oil as quickly as possible to the engine after starting it. You need to either drain some out or have them do it.

This is why I change my own oil. The dealers are notorious for overfilling oil capacity. Which can cause serious problems.

Yes, that is too high. Have them suck a little out.
