Cool toy for boat

I'd settle for one on my dock.. we've picked up about 35 new members from a recently closed marina, 90% of which are go-fast boats and 100% of them are total idiots with no regard for no wake zones and moored boats. I've had several conversations with them after their antics and I have been met with open hostility of the mere suggestion that they slow down:smt013:smt013 It's gonna be a long season education the freakin idiots

Neat toy! Looks like it takes the entire storage compartment of the Suburban, so I guess it won't fit my Navigator. Might fit a new Navigator L, though. It would be just the thing for senator season in Trenton!

Lt. Dan, you're wasting your time. Best to keep complaining to the local marine police. Complain to the local, state, and whomever else patrols in your area about the flagrant disregard for the no wake zones. A few citations will solve the problem. No one needs to know who got the police to take action. You pay good tax money for the police to have boats on the water, let that expense work for you. If you complain enough, they'll have someone monitor the area. If they write enough citations, they'll be around a lot. Problem solved.

Best regards,
Frank

Three Hamilton County Sheriff's patrol boats launch from my marina. I know a few of them personally, I plan on a chat with them as soon as I see them. I'll also speak to the owner.. it drives me crazy though.

Hey, I got yelled at in a no wake zone this weekend. I was going really slow, but was not paying attention as we were packing our things up on the way out, and was leaving a small wake. OOPS. I am usually the one making comments about others doing the same.

Hehe... same thing happened to me Saturday night. Just after entering the "the cut" on the way back to the marina, we saw a DNR boat sitting smack in the middle of the channel about 1/4 mile away from us on his way back from collecting the $10 fee from all of the folks camping on HMI for the night. I had just cruised the first 50 feet of the channel at about 10 mph instead of the standard 6 mph when the admiral pointed him out. I dropped to neutral, and watched as he headed into our marina where the DNR slips their boat. Cool, he isn't coming after me, I thought. So, I pull into the the marina about 5 minutes after him. We decided to stay on the boat for another evening, so we pull up to the floating dock. I decided to take the downwind side of the dock so we won't be blown into the dock all night. I'm still learning to dock into the wind, so it took 3 tries before I get us close enough for the admiral to step off with a line. One of the guys that keeps his boat there walked down the dock to catch a line. Well, the admiral hesitates, and the wind pushes us off a couple of feet before she could step off. By now, I had gone up on the bow, and tossed the bow line to our helpful neighbor. I turned around and looked back, only to see that the admiral had tossed the stern line to the DNR guy. He's coming over to tell me that he thinks I came in too hot (to the marina, not the channel) and instead, ends up tying me off. As I'm stepping off the swim platform to tighten the lines, he starts telling us that we don't belong here, as it is a private marina. The admiral, and our neighbor explain that we do indeed belong there. He then proceeds to tell me that my boat idles very fast. I just looked at him, and said "Hmm... well, I have 26 pitch props". He just looks at me, and says "oh", then walks away. It was kinda funny. I have no idea what the hell he was talking about, we were coming in very slow after we saw him in the channel, much less than 6 MPH. Lesson learned. When the DNR shows up to give you a hard time, toss them a line and pretend that you are happy to see them. Option "B" would be to hit the hatch lift and use the 50mm to sink him. I assume that IS what the red button on the console is for? When I bought the boat, I was told "Never press the red button.".
