I just got a 2006 240 sundeck with a merc 350 with bravo 3 for getting it ready for winter I pulled the plugs and let the water drain out than put in pink antifreeze from the hoses on the tstat including pouring about half gal until it ran out the drive through the water pick up.
my question is this is my first boat with the cool fuel and mine doesn't have any blue plugs on it and I tryed to get th two cooling hoses off but they won't come trying to figure out if back filling covers me or do I need to cut the hoses off and get replacement hoses.

You have two hoses on the backside of your cool fuel module. Between the two hoses is a bolt or nut that I believe takes a 9/16" socket. The bolt/nut loosens/tightens a bracket that holds the two hoses in the fittings in the CF module. Loosen this nut/bolt and back it out, but do not remove it. As you back it out, the plastic fittings will back out of the CF module and water will start to drain out of the module. Let the water drain and then tighten the nut/bolt and the hoses. Since you have already filled with AF, you may get a mix of water and AF.

I wouldn't touch those hoses at that connection. That's one of the problem areas on the earlier CF3's, and a leakage point. The aluminum housing corrodes where the o rings, attached to the hoses, sit. If they aren't leaking now, they may if you disturb them.

^^^^ what he said
You have the early gen CF module. Leave it alone or you will be dropping $1200 soon. You do need to address the water that could be laying in there, but trace the hose back to the splitter where it comes off the main line and see if you can disconnect them at that point.

^^^ one more in agreement with that. The hoses on the old modules (the ones without typical banding straps) are compression fit on plastic fittings. Do not mess with those and hope that you don't have paint flaking into the fuel.

Just had to replace both of my modules this summer because of the flake issue.

Guess I am the lucky one, at least for now...I have winterized the last three years doing this each time. The first year, I removed the bracket and hoses and cleaned the ports and fittings well, and replaced the 4-orings. Never had an issue. I back off just to get the water to drain and then tighten up. The hoses connect to a fitting under the engine in the bottom of the bilge. Not sure how you will access that.

I ended up cutting the hose and will get some barb fittings to put back together.
Thanks
